About Me

NOT ACCEPTING GUESTS - travelling in Europe!

I work and live in beautiful Tasmania, which allows me to adventure and explore the wilderness.

PHILOSOPHY

One life, I plan to use it by having great times, and bad times, and as many experiences as possible.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm on couchsurfing for the interesting people and conversations! And because it's always great to meet and help people who love adventuring around the world :)
I've mostly hosted, but hope to be on the other side of CS a bit more when I travel through Europe in early 2016.

Interests

Rock climbing, snowboarding & skiing, hiking, photography, swimming, mt biking... etc. Basically anything outdoors. Never really been a fan of team sports; 'me against the world' sports are a better fit!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

There are more than a few but this moment really affected me, even if it's a bit hard to explain why:
Waking up in my hammock in the farmlands of Quila Quila, a little village in Bolivia. A friend and I hiked all through the previous day to get there, running out of food on the way, and set up camp really late. Because it was the middle of the night we had no idea how amazing the area was until the morning. We woke up on the edge of a valley filled with fields, and surrounded by jagged, volcanic peaks. The light was golden, the air didn't move and the land was green, except for where the Andes soared into the sky. We watched it with for about an hour before the moment passed, just sat there and listened to the donkeys and roosters waking up, workers playing pan pipes and guitars as they walked to their fields, hummingbirds hovering overhead. It's a memorable one.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Good conversations. Always happy to cook, share stories, go for a drink. I was a snow sports instructor for a few years so can give pretty good lounge room snowboard and ski lessons.
