About Me

Hi, I'm Alex, a passionate, humorous and sometimes untypical German who loves cats, music, cats, travelling, cats and many other things.

TL;DR:
- We have a 2-room flat with 3 cats. Please make sure you are a. not allergic and b. not against cats!
- Please read the whole profile before submitting a couch request (and not a message).
- Currently I cannot offer an own room for staying over night. We would sleep in the same room, but the areas are divided by a room divider. The cats also sleep in the room here and they could potentially want to sleep near you, but won't wake you up. But if that could be a potential problem for you, please stay with another host.
- No flirting. I don't care what gender you are or what your sexuality is. My flat is a safe space, and since the moral development of so many people across the world seems to further deteriorate, you should be conscious about where you stay. Read my references and it should be clear what kind of person I am.
- Lifestyle: I don't care what you consume. I live straight edge & vegan (meaning no alcohol/smoking/drugs/promiscuity/animal products for me), but I tolerate other opinions and abhor preaching because I'm emotionally intelligent enough to know that my opinion is not better than someone else's. Discussions? Yeah. Preaching? Nope. Nevertheless, my flat is also a drug-free zone, so if you want to come to Berlin for a party-all-night-long, that's amazing, but please stay with another host.
- Religion: I don't care whether you are a Christian, Muslim, Jew, agnostic, atheist, Buddhist, Hindu or anything else - as long as you accept my opinion and do not share any extremist views.
- Please be an independent traveler. I'd love to hang out with you, but sometimes I cannot offer much time.
- Please don't mistake couchsurfing for "it's this app where I can stay somewhere for free". I'm not a hostel. If you are new to couchsurfing, welcome! These 3 links were a great start for me back in the day:

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To help and be helped by people. To meet and be met by people. I believe in mutual respect and exchange.

Interests

I appreciate authentic and profound people who have a heart of gold. Life is truly too precious for lies, hate, war and artificiality. And I have a soft spot for people who struggle and won't give up, who are modest, humble, who value their life and try to make the world a better place with their actions or by just being nice and helpful. People who actually live and don't only exist. People with an own opinion who stand for their beliefs and don't betray others. People who are emotional, doubt and love to laugh. Who follow their dreams. Gosh, that's rare. Sigh.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm a music freak, saw artists live in many countries and love listening to extreme metal, rock, pop, classical, folk, electronica, hip-hop, jazz and what-have-you. Please show me your favourite music 😊
