Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have just started hosting people! I had my first couchsurfer this summer and it was a great experience. Looking forward to do it again!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My first couch surfing experience was in 2010 when I visited with a group of Spanish Erasmus students several Balkan countries (Bulgaria, Greece, Macedonia, Serbia). It was amazing, I met incredible nice people and due to those crazy Spanish guys I discovered this wonderful community that makes it possible for people to travel all over the world! My second couch surfing was way much more modest: a weekend in Budapest.:)But I cannot wait to be able to do some couch surfing in South America, for example. :)

Interests

I love artistic activities and creativity in general grabs my attention. When it comes to people, several things grab my attention in a positive way, among which the sense of humor, the "clown" type of personality, the elegance in behavior and gestures, the wisdom in thoughts and words. I take an interest in political matters as well, I like to discuss about political systems, world economy, science etc.

Music, Movies, and Books

I consider myself a citizen of the planet, I respect difference, I find it fascinating, but I would rather focus on finding what people have in common. Too bad that in this beautiful world we cannot simply, safely and freely travel from one far place to another..because of the wars, the cultural differences, the poverty and other obstacles...I wish this whole world were a much safer place especially for women to live, to be independent, to not submit to the social pressure and prejudices, to travel, to have alternatives to the classical family scenario.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Saw elephants in Sri Lanka. Fell in love at first side with a boy that was talking nonsense about dinosaurs and planet extinction.. made a love declaration on a piece of paper. Contact improvisation workshops. Took drama lessons and performed a few times. Shared a foam hot bath... :) Contradicted my boss. Fed a few homeless kittens. Stood up against injustice. Made my parents separate after a long dysfunctional family life. Started to host people on couch-surfing. Invented a new word in Romanian
