About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To enjoy the ride

ABOUT ME

I am interested in exploring the places that fall through the cracks in maps and in enjoying the moment. I used to think I'd seen and heard everything, but now I realize this is not so.

I am a writer currently revising a novel. I teach writing at the university level as well as teaching private classes in my home. I also do energy healing---Matrix Energetics, Theta Healing, and some other modalities.

I am in the middle of relocating and am exploring the possibilities---probably S. CA or S. Central Coast or Croatia if I can think of a way to get my dog there in one piece.

PHILOSOPHY

Enjoy the ride.
Choose love rather than fear. Nowness.
We create our experience.
I AM that I AM.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I think I'll mainly be hosting, but who knows.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I haven't couch surfed in a really long time. For a while when I was a teenager, I lived in my aunt and uncle's back yard in Long Beach in a tent made of sheets---it was a little scary because their yard was haunted and there were drifters from the railroad tracks passing by.

Interests

Books, film, dancing, the holographic nature of the universe, food, travel, snowmen, qi gong, levitating saints, South East Asia, etc.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like any movie where people switch bodies and any version of the song Saint James Infirmary. Some of my favorite books: Why Did I Ever by Mary Robison, Jesus' Son by Denis Johnson, Death Will Have Her Eyes by James Sallis.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I had an invisible surgery in the pousada next to the Jao de Dios compound in Brazil. I was quasi-kidnapped by a Condomble priest in Brazil. I know two people who can bend spoons with their minds. (I have to update this to say more than two).

There is a man in Seattle with the biggest blond afro I have ever seen and it trembles in the air like its alive.

A couple months ago, I saw a man in an orange shirt riding his bike along Alki with a giant white parrot riding on his shoulder. In general, I find parrot's tongues amazing to look at.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can give you advice about writing fresh, edgy fiction and, on an entirely different note, I am happy to give surfers healings. Here's my healing website (I'm still working on it, but there's lots of videos): http://writingthelight.com
I would love to hear travelers suggestions about interesting places to live, learn qi gong, try other healing modalities, and am open to learning many things.

Countries I’ve Visited

Brazil, Japan, United States
