About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Make Hebrew-learning fun and as diverse as possible for anyone who is interested in learning this new-ancient language :) Here are my projects in this direction http://www.alisa-hebrew.com/

ABOUT ME

Born in Russia, lived my grown-up life in Israel, Passionate about language-learning and Hebrew-teaching. Encountering different languages, mixture of cultures, sometimes it's disorienting and sometimes encouraging. Happy to exchange observations about living in different places.
People say that I like to talk and that I talk fast. But, paradoxically, that's because I like listening to people. I like learning about how people live and what they think about all kinds of subjects.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Hosting the wonderful travelers. :) Feels like we are constantly travelling without leaving the couch!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I was reading a blog of a very nice person, sometimes commenting, but it wasn't a personal acquaintance. Once he wrote that he, his wife and his son, are going for a holiday to my region. I suggested to meet, and he agreed! They stayed over for one night, we had a dinner together, talked a lot, then visited some must-go places in Jerusalem together. From that time on I realized that a miraculous thing happened - instead of having a distant acquaitatnce somewhere, we have close friends somewhere! And it makes a difference! Since then I was looking forward for an opportunity to meet distant people face-to-face, and now, upon finding this CouchSurfing community, I am really thrilled!

Interests

Language-teaching, language-learning and animation.

Along with languages, as a nice side-effect, goes meeting (in writing or in person) many wonderful people, which is also one of my interests. Since I grew up in one country and live in another, observing, thinking over and discussing cultural differences became somewhat of a hobby for me. ;)
