About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Traveling! April 3 to Amsterdam, June 7 Stockholm to Bangkok, Aug 6 Kuala Lumpur to PDX! All the stops in between! Gonna be couchsurfing from Rome to Sweden via train april 25th to June7th.

ABOUT ME

I am a very friendly, open talking and open minded guy. I love my job helping folks. Coaching, consulting, logistics, planning, event admin, talking, philosophy, you name it. I love it!
I also enjoy creating beautiful and interesting objects, though I am moving that gallery around right now so it may or may not be up depending on the time. (cedricwinterwolf.com)

I am a hard worker and I play hard too. Very curious and thoughtful, open to long conversations and debates at nearly any hour of the day. I am an excellent cook apparently, but I don't follow the 'rules of culinary regions' sometimes... but I will gladly help around the house or in the kitchen!

Some highlights from my Interests list:I am an avid wilderness ranger which generally sneaks its way into all aspects of my life, literally or philosophically. I've trained my horse for jousting, lance work, spear and javaline throwing, sword and axe, and mounted archery. With the mounted archery Anawyn(my half draft half passafino horse) have given demonstrations at fairgrounds, medieval events, and horse expos all over the NW Unites States.I do in fact craft just about anything. I've done 1week to 1 year long apprenticeships in leather, wood, and metalworking. I am currently a proficient bladesmith.

I also do work as a personal coach in Self Awareness and Purpose. This basically means I help you find you so you can be yourself in the world and do what makes you feel amazing!

What better way than meeting new folks as I go!

PHILOSOPHY

I am a "be and let be" type of person, until I find something I consider very different and then I am up for a good debate ;) . I am a very complex mix of a lot of belief systems both moral and spiritual, but I take it all extremely light heartedly!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To meet locals, find friends, network, explore and see the world we live in!

Interests

The train-wreck free-flow list is thus: Camping, hiking, biking, survival training, wilderness immersion, wilderness guide work, first aid/CPR/AED, metalsmithing, blacksmithing, bladesmithing, jewelry fabrication and casting, wood working, carving, crafting in general, leather working, armour making, beer brewing, yogurt making, sourdough starter, food preservation, herbalism, herbal remedy, herbal medicine preparation, writing fantasy fiction and philosophy and psychology, intimacy and trust coaching, equestrian, horseback archery, medieval reenactment, medieval camping, medieval combat, martial arts, shaolin kung fu, wing chun kung fu, nature, plants, trees, gardening, animals, wolves, and more!

Music, Movies, and Books

all of them.
Movies are pretty easy, I will watch nearly anything.
Music is basically anything except country, golden oldies, and really crappy rap.
Books is usually anything I can get ahold of, but I haven't been making time to read as much lately. I read a lot of JRR Tolkien, GRR Martin, Terry Goodkind, etc. I read lots of survival skill manuals, wilderness account novels, and the such.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

It's a toss up between doing a 2000ft elevation gain hike with a 70# pack over 3 days, or giving an AMAZING mounted archery demonstration in Ashland, ORegon, USA. Outside of my home territory I suppose backpacking around western europe by myself is a good one, haha! Some highlights: hiking the peninsula south of Cinque Terre, Hitchhiking in Sweden to archaeological sites, Blacksmithing festival in Ivano-Frankivsk Ukraine, Car pool from Barcelona Spain to Nimes France, Visiting Stone Henge, Hiking on The Isle of sky.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach about making beer, yogurt, sourdough, kombucha, and other foods. I have professionally instructed in blacksmithing and bladesmithing but could also teach leather working, and most jewelry processes. I am a 10 year expierenced archery coach for half a dozen forms including mounted archery. I can teach you how to throw an arrow 60 meters with a piece of string, or make a survival shelter! I can also instruct basics in shaolin kung fu and aikido. I can teach herbalism basics, and I can get people started in pretty much anything on my interests list!

Many cases I am not a professional, but I can at least give you the beginner parts so you can start learning!

I want to learn more about cost effective traveling!
