About Me

CURRENT MISSION

to listen, talk, learn and write. laughing is fun, too.

ABOUT ME

greetings! hello! i am quite new to couchsurfing but think it could be a great way to connect with new people and make some friends once i touch down in bogota, colombia, next month. i'm a freelance journalist and have traveled a lot for my work, which focuses mostly on international human rights -- i've worked out of nepal, cambodia, thailand, india, bangladesh, guatemala and mexico over the past 2 years for varying lengths of time, but my move to bogota will be a bit more long term. exciting stuff!

i'm the proud owner of a lil dog named Duck, who will be joining me on my journey to Colombia.

My work is a big part of who I am and I am very much interested in different social justice issues... it can get a little heavy, so I also like to lighten to mood with healthy doses of pop culture, in forms of: art, music, film, literature (legit and crappy).

I've been told I ask good questions. I love playing with little kids. I love to dance. Explore new places with friends. And to travel.

PHILOSOPHY

self-actualization - if you know what you want to do, do it.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I recently met this rescued elephant named Lucky in a rescue center for wildlife just outside of Phnom Penh, Cambodia. If you looked at her, she would press her forehead up against yours and look right back at you. She also enjoyed drinking water straight from a water bottle. She was easily one of the most affectionate and just amazing animals I have ever come across - full of wisdom in her eyes and so gentle. The whole experience left me feeling very lucky indeed.
