About Me

I’m a just a Brazilian engineer, science enthusiast and compulsive hobby collector. Although I love my job, hobbies and things I do on my daily basis, I have to admit that my favorite part of the year is that one month of vacations that I normally use to travel somewhere on globe. Man, that makes me happy! Visiting new places, turn corners having no clue what you are going to see next, trying strange street food and, of course, getting to know people (luckily while having a cold beer). Those are for me great memorable experiences.

Right now I’m planning the last trip of my BRICS experience: South Africa. I would like very much to couchsurf in this amazing country. So, if you live in South Africa, I hope we can meet and then I can give you a better idea of my “About me”.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Because as a traveler I love to meet locals and as a local I love to meet travelers. Couch Surfing is a great tool for making this happen.

Interests

I am very good at having lots of interests and hobbies and sucking in all of them. The problem is that I jump from one thing to the other so fast that I never get to the point of mastering anything. For instance, right know I am beginning to try some indoor bouldering and learn French. However, it was “yesterday” when I was all about Chinese and MMA, which in turn made me forget everything about my old passions: gardening and mountain bike. I am someone who knows nothing about a lot of things. :-)

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: It would be easier to say what I don't like, but to make it short I could mention some bands that I really love like Architecture in Helsinki, The Beta Band, Glass Animals and Breakbot. Rougher bands like Black Keys and Wolfmother are also welcome. And of course some electronic for focusing while working: GRiZ, Gramatik, Bonobo, Kill Paris, etc.

Movies: I’m a nerd, I confess, so I really enjoy some good complex Sci-Fi: 2001, Interstellar, The Fontain, Primer, etc. But of course I also like other stuff. Like of my favorite film all-time: High Fidelity.

Books: I really enjoy pretty much everything that Neil Gaiman writes, the book Good Omens being one of my favorites. One Hundred Years of Solitude from Gabriel Garcia Marquez is also great. Of course, I could not leave out my favorite author Rubem Fonseca. I love traveling, but I didn’t like “On The Road”. Am I the only one?

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Once I and the crew from Green Peace climbed the Trump Towers in NY to protest against Whale fishing in Japan.

No, just kidding. Never been to New York.

But I´ve climbed to the roof of my parents’ house as a kid. That was amazing. At the time. On my opinion.
