ABOUT ME

Young woman, born and raised in Alaska. I'm moving to Portland to go to art school. I'm old-fashioned, I like farming and I like baking and I like making things with my hands. Yoga and libraries take up a lot of space in my life. I'm almost professional at taking walks.

PHILOSOPHY

The best way to live is a mixture of kindness, lots of breathing and stretching, being the most honest you can be, and trying your hardest to take delight in the world all of the time.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've been staying with hosts on the East coast, and a few stayed with me in Anchorage. I don't have a home yet, but I hope to return the favors when I do.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Every host I stay with, we seem to discuss how amazing this site has become. I feel like it's tapping into a really old vein of hospitality that we've missed. We've missed showing off our homes and having company in that old-fashioned way. Or, at least, I have.

Oh, gosh. It seems like they're all small moments: lining up cans of blueberry jam. Alaska mountaintops. Looking out of a Paris flat window onto a bakery and the gosh-darn most beautiful people walking past. Digging fingers into the dirt and looking up onto the mountains. Driving a van and belting Elton John. That feeling of when you pick up a book and it tells you exactly what you were hoping to hear. Those are the moments, I suppose.

I'll do some yoga with you. I love teaching how to bake and cook or grow a vegetable.

I want to do more long-distance bicycle and kayaking trips. I want to learn to play the fiddle.
