About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Travel, Enjoy, Give back!

ABOUT ME

I'm curious. Seriously, even if I don't know what the hell you are talking about I will be interested in learning new things. People usually find me sympathetic and to my opinion, the best moments are shared around food.
I am passionate about wild mushrooms and my studies in biology took me in the field of botany, microbiology and the study of everything fungi.
I enjoy a bicycle ride across the city's microbreweries, a visit in a super underground and obscure art gallery or a simple walk around the nice parts of the world.

PHILOSOPHY

Self-improvement is the only way to feel accomplished.
Put your believes into actions.
A stranger is a potential friend.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Happiness is only real when shared

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

First time I used CouchSurfing was through the account of my (now ex) boyfriend when we arrived in Australia. A few years after, I traveled solo in Belgium and with couchsurfing, it felt like i had family and friends everywhere in the world. I am hoping to be able to host one day as well!

Interests

I'm passionate about Science, Mushrooms, Beer, books and Garden Gnomes; I often take a travelling gnome with me while visiting since they are the perfect models for most of my landscape shots.

Cooking and baking are also some of my (enumerable) interests; i learned to cook while studying hotel management and it has become some kind of a therapy for me since. Since you have to eat three times a day, might as well enjoy it, right?! Mixed with my love for gardening, i try to cook with the closest, freshest, healthiest ingredients possible.

I enjoy a good read and I play a bit of ukulele. I'm a certified diver but don't have the chance to dive that much in Canada: the water is so cold!!

Music, Movies, and Books

All Tarantino, Kubrick, Lynch. I like foreign movies as much as i appreciate Québec's cinema.
For music, i'm open minded. I usually enjoy more complex music rather than the eternal pop we hear on the radio, love live shows and constantly looking for new bands. Think blues, rock, jazz, classics...
I read a lot and my bookcase is full of fiction, drama, sci-fi, historic and many more novels. I also collect art books and I am a fully assumed geek that feeds on comics and graphic novel.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I would say that hiking a mountain of over 7000m of altitude at night to see the sunrise the next morning was pretty sweet!

Most amazing I've seen so far is probably the corals of Western Australia. Such beauty!

Also, spending a five days hike in the Andes of Peru was quite an adventure.

Natural wonders always gives me the shivers.

Teach, Learn, Share

I've lived in the surroundings of Ottawa since I'm born, so i know the city very well; from good and cheap restaurants or bistro, underground cafes, cycling road and parks, festivals and shows.

Talk to me about mushrooms.
