About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Making this world better. No discrimination.

ABOUT ME

I'm Diego. I'm 33 yo. Mexican guy who works as a doctor and working occasionally as an emergency medical technician (EMT). I think I'm an active, open-minded, cool and neat person.

I like reading, meeting and listening to people. I have a special place in my heart for Medicine, Languages, Music, Politics and History. I love anything related to those areas. On the other hand, I don't like violence or discrimination.
My favorite sports are football and swimming.

My favorite quotes are 'Aliis vivere' (Living to help people) and 'Carpe Diem'.

I'm willing to receive your couch request! :)

PHILOSOPHY

I like to collect quotes or phrases as philosophy such as 'Carpe Diem'. There's a latin phrase I love: To exist «non sibi, sed toti mundo» (To exist not just for yourself but for the whole world)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Hosting and surfing. I love hosting and I try to give my surfers a great Mexican experience through their travel. At this moment, my couch is available for any surfer with CouchSurfing spirit!!! When feasible, I attend local CS Weekly Meetings.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have barely hosted twelve times and my mind has changed a lot. I've surfed four couches in Europe, three in USA and one in Mexico. I had so much fun, I learned about other cultures, other ideas and I learned more about my culture and myself. Also, I have improved my language skills and now I know new types of music. Sincerely, my life has changed since I started hosting. Thanks CS!

Music, Movies, and Books

MUSIC
Indie rock, alternative rock, progressive rock, britpop, electrorock, experimental, though I listen to every song I come across.

MOVIES
I don't have a lot of time to see many movies. I watch most of all mainstream films. Though many people don't like it, I have always loved 'Babel'... It reflects upon our languages, our mental barriers and our different ways to see the world.

BOOKS
Brave new world, The importance of being Earnest, The little prince, Sherlock Holmes. Huge fan of three Latin American writers: Gabriel García Márquez, Carlos Fuentes and Jorge Ibargüengoitia.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Signing up to CouchSurfing

Teach, Learn, Share

I can share things about Mexico City such as interesting places. The most important lesson I would like to teach is to improve the bad image most of international people have about Mexico. I can also talk about the body, medicine, mexican cuisine or books. I'd like to learn new things about every place in the world, new languages, new food, new music.

Countries I’ve Visited

Belgium, France, Netherlands, United Kingdom, United States

Countries I’ve Lived In

Mexico
