About Me

CURRENT MISSION

1. Rescue Humanity; 2. Get into Heaven

ABOUT ME

Currently working 80 hours per week and saving money to properly recapitalize my non-profit organization to fight adult illiteracy in developing countries.

PHILOSOPHY

.
1. If you make a deal, keep it.

2. Don't do anything you can not admit to doing.

3. Don't lie. This is a lot easier if you follow rule #2.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

When I have a couch, I share;
When I need a couch, I seek.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

New to this site, but have free-style couch surfed through China, The Netherlands, Germany, and a fair amount of the USA.

Interests

Writing, photography, cooking, international cultures, languages, history, economics, science (yes, I realize science is a pretty broad area, but there is no area of science that does not fascinate me from black holes to blind moles, from anthropology to entomology, and from the big bang to the soft rhythm of a baby's heart: it is all captivating), mathematics (how big a nerd do you have to be to enjoy talking abot math?), but the areas I probably enjoy learning about the most are related to cultures, the rules of social interaction, human sexuality, the process of cultural evolution, and the genetic link in micro/macro social behavior.

Music, Movies, and Books

The Art of War by Mao Tse-tung (not to be confused with the book with the same title by Sun Tzu).

The most recent movies I've watched are...
all crappy! When is Hollywood going to realize that spending $20 million on advertising a movie does not make it good!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've made and lost a million dollars five times.
Been on the wrong end of a gun four times.
Outrun police in a high speed chase three times.
Saved a person's life twice.
Met the President of the United States once.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can read in six languages, do weird math in my head, juggle, and tie a cherry stem into a knot with my tongue. However, I think if I tried to do all those things at the same time, I might really hurt myself.

Countries I’ve Visited

Canada, China, Croatia, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Netherlands, Spain, Taiwan

Countries I’ve Lived In

China, United States
