post mid-life desire to finally live our lives and meet interesting people in inspiring locations

ABOUT ME

We are a young-thinking broad-minded 50+ married couple who have reached that time in life to really get the travel bug and go forth to see the world after years of being locked up in classrooms!
Our daughters are studying at university so are away most of the year and we made a lifestyle change just over 3 years ago, leaving our teaching jobs to get back our lives - a decision that we have not regretted in any way, moving forward and never looking back!
We have a great sense of humour and are friendly and respectful to those who are the same and enjoy a drink, good food (and adventurous within limits!) and are totally unpretentious.
We are definitley NOT "ANORAKS" and we spend much of our summertime on a quiet naturist beach in the south of france - some think that's pervy but we are not! We just love the sun and find such beaches to be calmer and people more respctful of each other.
We are both fluent in French and love that country but have this burning desire to go further afield. A visit to Morocco was hugely inspiring and in October 2012 we travelled to Thailand (WOW!) and thne Australia where one of our daughters was studying and now the feet are itching to get on the road again! this year we went to Indonesia though weren't brave enough to CS but the people we met were lovely and it is true that everyone in Indonesia smiles!
Currently we are in the South of france enjoying the sun!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

No longer CS virgins! We spent a great night in a home in australia and the host Brian was amazing.
Also used airBNB and met some fab people - so much nicer than impersonal hotels
