ABOUT ME

I never set out to become anything in particular, only to live creatively and push the scope of my experience through adventure and passion. For everything that brought me to this point on earth at this moment in time, to do something worth remembering with a photograph, or a scar. I feel genuinely lucky to hand on heart say I love doing what I do. If I only scrape a living, at least it’s a living worth scraping. If there’s no future in it, at least it's a present worth remembering.

PHILOSOPHY

I smile a lot. I'm doing my very best to live in this moment, because to me it's the only thing that really exists.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

So far I've only surfed, but I'm looking forward to the day when I can offer a couch of my own.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I joined couch surfing Last year when I set out to ride my bicycle from Albuquerque, NM to New York City. So for it's been one of the most amazing ways to meet new, like-minded people.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love movies, sometimes I make them! ---> andrewtomayko.com

I'm very passonate about music! I collect new, forward thinking music from all over the world. Particularly Downtempo, Hip-Hop, Glitch, Funk, Bass and Experimental-pop.

I'm getting better about reading more often. Books are awesome!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I quit my job in LA and sold almost all my possessions to move to the Big Island of Hawaii in the summer of 2011. During my time there l volunteered on an organic coffee farm in South Kona. Living in Hawaii is what changed everything for me. I blogged about the entire experience here: manakea.tumblr.com

Last year, for my 25th birthday, my good friend Caleb and I rode our bicycles from Albuquerque, NM to NYC. I had no former cycling experience and spent as little money as possible. It took 3 and a half months riding though the south and up the east coast, 3300 miles in total. Caleb and I ether couch surfed or camped every night. The most incredible experience, I would suggest it to anyone! I also blogged about this entire experience here: bycycling.tumblr.com
