ABOUT ME

I am 25 and living in Southampton, England. I have just finished a fine art degree and I have a part time job working at a cinema (which is awesome part time! I get to watch everything that comes out!). I do a lot of work involving food waste, I love dumpster diving and I have a blog about the food I find. I am also interested in ethical fashion, I run clothes swaps in my city. During the summer I cycled from Southampton to Berlin, couch surfing on the way, the people I met were amazing.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I do have a flat but it's a bit of a building site, there is no shower or washing machine I'm afraid but it is warm and cosy so if you just need a place to crash for a night I could help out. I am quite familiar with the city and cool stuff to do here so there's lots to do!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

During the summer I cycled across Europe and couch surfed. This trip was my first experience staying with people and it was so amazing! People's hospitality and trust inspire me to offer my place! Before that I had met up with a few couchsurfers and been to some meetings in Berlin and they were all awesome experiences. I was given an architectural tour, went dumpster diving, been cooked for, practiced german with and travelled back to the UK with them. So much fun.

Interests

In my free time, I watch alot of films, swim, I love to bake cakes, cycle, knit, read. I love to do anything different or fun really!

Music, Movies, and Books

MOVIES! I watch everything but I love Chris Nolan, Leo Dicaprio, Michael Fassbender, Kate Winslet, Benedict Cumberbatch, the list goes on and on!
I am interested in alternative ways of living, real big on recycling and spending energy in the right places.

Since finishing uni I have been burning through TV series. Breaking bad, Orange is the new black, Game of Thrones.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have been dumpster diving or 'binning' for over a year and a half, I find the scale a difficult thing to describe so I make art about it!

A lot of my work involves distributing food waste after it has been recovered. I also have a collaborative project called Food Waste Cafe, in which we set up a pop up art installation cafe and provide table service to guests of food waste.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can knit, photoshop, I know a little about bikes, photography and art theory, I can bake!

I would love to learn German fluently, but mostly I would just like to experience other customs and cultures.
