About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To travel the world, write and meet new people

ABOUT ME

I just moved back to Seattle after living in Buenos Aires for the last year. Hablo ingles y espanol pero estoy aprendiendo espanol todavia. I worked as an english teacher and kept a travel blog. I have been to 23 countries and love travel, sports, learning new things and meeting new people. I am easy-going and smile and laugh easily. My favorite things to do are futbol(soccer), kitesurf, ski, snowboard, wakeboard, run, write, listen to music and of course go out with friends. My favorite band is probably Red Hot Chili Peppers, but I like all types of music.

PHILOSOPHY

I try not to plan my life too much because I find plans just get in the way of making better plans. Life is too short for money to be a primary focus. I prefer to focus on the human experiences like exploring new cultures and meeting new people and learning everything I can about the world. Fresh perspectives are more interesting than just keeping the same old one.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I do some of the group activities when I have the time but would really like to do some more coachsurfing and hosting.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I don't have a lot of experience couch surfing. I have of course slept on many a couch, but the longest I've done is 3 months in Long Island, New York where I slept on a couch in a families basement. Back then there was not a couch surfing website so I had to go door to door when I arrived in the city for a summer job. Pretty fun and the family was so nice. I also spent a week in San Francisco when I went up there for a spring break in college, a couple nights here and there with friends... and sometimes I fall asleep on my own couch watching a late night movie.hehe. I also did a few meet up groups when I was living in Buenos Aires, some soccer games and language exchanges and things like that. Also, I have now hosted twice. It was lots of fun both times and look forward to hosting again as well as doing some surfing myself.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I did a glacier climb up Mt Rainer. ascending 4000 meters in 3 days and watched the sunrise from the slope at 3500 meters. Looking down over the valleys below, as hues of orange, pink and magenta overtook the flashing lights of the cities dotting the horizon, the scene took my breath away. At one point we used our ice axes to iceclimb up a 2-3 meter section of ice to bypass a 100 meter deep crevasse that blocked our way and cut 2 kilometers out of our climb. For our descent we sat on our butts and slide down the hillside covering 1000 meters in maybe 30 minutes and using the ice axe sparingly as an emergency break. We packed up our tents and continued on our bottoms to the bottom. Weeeeeeeeeee!

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach most any sport, english, and how to fix many things as I worked as an apartment manager, and handled its maintenance for over 3 years. I have built houses before, and just last summer rebuilt the deck on my houseboat in Seattle before moving to BsAs so I can teach some practical constructions skills as well. The main thing I am working on right now is improving my writing ability in english and learning both spanish and portugues. so I could use help in these areas.
