About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Exploring the powers of Positivity and Travel

ABOUT ME

I'm Stuart, an Englishman and I have been travelling with my girlfriend Cindy who is Taiwanese. For the last year and a half, we have been travelling throughout Australia, Asia, and Europe. Together we have experienced many exciting things, in many different cultures. Now we find ourselves in New Zealand ready to start the next part of our journey together. We live each day with no expectations, going along with what the road decides to throw at us. Reacting with positivity and a smile. This philosophy has proven to be a bit of a good luck charm so far.

I spend a lot of time illustrating, and teaching myself Mandarin. I'm also a biiiig movie fan. I've spent a lot of time watching and collecting films. Now my collection is no longer with me, I take any opportunity to watch one. Cindy is the one you'll probably talk to on Couchsurfing. She spends most of her time organising where we are going, how we are getting there and where to stay etc. I can't live without coffee and she is a big tea drinker. Cindy is like me, we enjoy the same things. This has made travelling so much more enjoyable.

Neither of us are chefs, but the things we can cook, we do well. My spaghetti bolognese is pretty awesome, if I do say so myself. Cindy enjoys cooking a lot and is a great baker. I've been watching people in hostels cook their meals, trying to learn what they are doing. I'm improving on what I eat. For a long time I wasn't a fan of food, but now I love it. Cindy is not a fussy eater. Trust me, I've seen her eat the weirdest Taiwanese cuisine!

We don't discriminate from 'the tourist trap'. We believe that it's part of travel to see the popular things. But we also like to seek out the experiences that not everyone sees. Moments like that are rare, and unforgettable.

Anyway, that's enough from me. We've got stuff to see.

Peace x

PHILOSOPHY

"Assume that what is happening belongs in your lives. Accept it; acknowledge it; integrate it. Live through it; get into it. Explore it; examine it. Get excited."

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

As we're currently travelling we can't host, but I know that when we are settled somewhere we'll be returning the favour to the community.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Cindy has more experince than myself. She went to meetings and has surfed a few times in various places. Me, I surfed a couple of times.
