About Me

Heya!! Heading into October... I will be in NE FL/SE GA until spring!! Currently looking for a host for the Savannah couch crash (really I just need to park my van with someone local whom is attending the downtown events... so that we can share rides to the events... you'd drive for downtown or we split an Uber... I can drive out to Tybee and Pulaski for sure parking is sufficient, some of the other events I'll have to peek at the satellite map before committing)

I grew up in Sandy Hook Connecticut, went to college at Sacred Heart in Fairfield, lived in CT for decades and served as active member of Kiwanis International and advocating for children in CT's foster care system. Then pandemic struck !! And that unique opportunity came to sell my home and relocate to Florida with my best friend, sister and niece. With selling my home in 2020, I no longer host, I am traveling full-time. Top line of my profile, I'll periodically update with my current region or what's going on. I'm always game to hang out with CSers in the area, if you're hosting in my area and "busy", give me a holler and I can help with your guest, my work schedule is flexible and I often have free time during random days.

That travel bug owns me and I love to break out and relax and enjoy my time off. I am considered a road warrior?? Before having a full-time work-from-home gig... Every weekend I was somewhere outta town, camping someplace, meeting friends and going out on their boat, never home!!
2012 I bought my first van and built it out to a campervan, an old 1987 Ford E150. 2018 I bought my second van and built out to a campervan on new Nissan cargo van. It's 2022, and I'm in a wide body (and tall!!) campervan.

I've sorely missed CSing and getting to connect better with new people !!

I love animals, meeting new people, travel, and learn from other cultures. I like adventure and exploring nature, camping, roadtrips, collecting lighthouse visits, visiting national parks and historical places. I don't drink, I might have one or two, once or twice in a year. I don't watch TV, I might hit YouTube for a derpy pet video or documentary, but I won't remember any of it, and I'll be asleep in the first 5-15 minutes. I really enjoy my day if I can get out for a couple nice walks, or if I can get out on a boat. Love to cook and will cook at least a couple times per week, rather than always going out.

I prefer to travel solo and occasionally seek travel buddies to explore with, but cannot currently host because I live in a van.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love getting to meet new people while I'm traveling !! Was active on CSing until the pandemic, and then it just wasn't the time to be asking for a free place to crash-- especially in the beginning when we didn't really know what we were doing and what this was all about. I've had a work-from-home gig since 2018, so during the pandemic in summer 2020, sold my CT home and relocated to FL with my best friend and sister and niece. I'm never home tho... I've been just about full time in a stealth campervan setup and doing a lot of roadtripping during the pandemic.

in the past, for extended roadtrips... I typically would string together CSing hosts with airbnbs and boondocking. Helped with the 2016 couch crash in Connecticut. Really looking to dive back in !!

I'm very interested in lighthouse hunting, national parks, and small museums !!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Had a blast as one of your organizers for the 2016 ConnectiCouch Crash !! 4 days of new friends, exploring places here in Connecticut-- Mark Twain house, the country's oldest continuously operating ferry, first nuclear sub, hiking to Heublein Tower, visiting the PEZ factory, and walking tours of Hartford and New Haven... It was wonderful to do things during the day, and head to the bars in the evenings ~! Saturday of the crash we hosted a huge potluck style pool party... Great fun for all, even if it was the hottest weekend of the entire summer!

Teach, Learn, Share

I like learning to cook, because I totally can't cook. I have a few things I'm good at making. I can teach you how to make something, if you teach me too !

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can occasionally offer hosts a camping trip with my campervan.
