I am a photographer and artist. I have a passion for taking amazing photos, drawing, painting, and anything else creative. I am athletic and love playing sports, hiking and enjoying the great outdoors.

I am hardworking and competitive and always push myself to my limits and try my best at everything I do. I am up for adventures and new experiences.

I try to be considerate, honest, and respectful of others. I love meeting new people and am usually pretty outgoing but can also be a little shy at first.

I want to make a difference and give back to people in need through my photography and creativity. I want to travel the world and explore the natural beauty it has to offer.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I couchsurfed a couple times for the first time when backpacking Iceland and had great experiences! Since then I've been hosting people when I can and have used it again to surf on a trip to Portland with a friend.

A few things I love...God, family, friends, nature, photography, art, travel, design, illustration, drawing, painting, reading, music, hiking, light shining through the forest, wet moss, fresh air, the smell of the ocean, basketball, sports, hiking, food, cooking, tea, coffee, accomplishing a really difficult task, learning, listening, and just taking in everything around me.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music...I love a lot of different music, just not country or heavy metal type stuff. I am currently loving more folk, acoustic, indie music, but lots of other stuff too. Some of my current favorite artists are Bon Iver, Mumford and Sons, Ben Howard, Of Monsters and Men, Passenger, Daughter, Boy & Bear, The Lumineers, Matthew & The Atlas, Angel Olsen, Sharon Van Etten...to name a few.

Books...cook books, hands down. They have to have beautiful photos and delicious sounding recipes though.

Movies...I'm pretty open to watch a lot of types of movies, but I don't really watch that many. Really into watching cooking TV shows though!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Backpacking/hitchhiking around Iceland by myself the summer of 2012. The entire trip was so incredible. I will never forget the places I saw, the people I met, and the adventures I had.

One of the most amazing adventures I had in Iceland was the 75km hike I did from Landmannalaugar to Skogar. I also snorkled at Silfra, the rift between the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates- incredible.

Backpacked Spain, Portugal, Morocco in 2014, camel trekked into the Sahara, took surfing lessons on the Moroccan coast

I've been on a few amazing multi-day hikes; bungee jumping; photographed the athletes on Canada's women's swim team

Trained for, fought, and won a boxing match in front of close to 1000 people to raise money for a good cause. Hardest thing I have ever physically done!

...for now I await my next big adventure.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can share my knowledge about photography. I also really love to cook and am pretty decent at it but not a pro- would love to share what knowledge I have or learn more! I would really like to at some point in my life learn how to play the guitar, rock climb, surf, snowboard, kitesurf...or at least try these things.
