About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To learn, be patient, explore, share... and learn some more...

ABOUT ME

So far in life I've studied, travelled and worked and I'd like this pattern to continue.

I've worked as a musician, teacher and lawyer and have enjoyed each role in certain ways.

Socialising and exercising relax me and I especially like doing both near the ocean. Cooking and sharing delicious and nutricious meals with friends and family is another favourite past time.

Steve, my partner, and I are currently traversing Latin America. We spent 9 months studying in Buenos Aires and have been travelling north since November 2009. We´re currently planning a big cycle trip, with a homecoming in February 2011.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I host, I've been hosted and I spread a positive word.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've met and been inspired by such an array of people thanks to this project, travelling Brunei, Malaysia Prague, Paris, Mexico, United States, Canada, Argentina & Uruguay as a surfer. Human connection and care is all I've encountered. May these adventures continue with full force! I've also hosted guests in my wee flats in Sydney and Buenos Aires.

Interests

Travelling; particularly travelling adventures that involve the outdoors; sharing beers with friends; reading; yoga; language learning; keeping in touch with friends & family.

Music, Movies, and Books

I´m a reader of all kinds of fiction, though, unlike with movies, I find it hard to read a trashy book. Bring on trashy movies though! You have to add light hearted elements to your life somehow. That said, the last movies I´ve watched were Downfall and Garden State. Both awesome & definitely not trashy. I was recently introduced to the author Murakami & fell in love! As for music, anything goes apart from intensely heavy electronic or hard rock. I prefer jazz, folk, dub, rock... & of course classical!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I´ve had so many amazing travelling experiences. I often wonder whether I´m particularly talented at landing myself in incredible locales or if there are just so many of them in the world. The latter is probably closer to the truth. A travelling highlight has to be the treks I've done around the border between Sarawak Malaysia & Kalimantan Indonesia. Isolated villages, wild deer & boar hunting, sleeping out in the jungle... incredible. Steve and I are now travelling Latin America. We lived in Buenos Aires and the Ecuadorian Andes, we travelled between Peru and Ecuador through the Amazon and from Colombia to Panama on a yacht. Amazing travelling adventures are not hard to find on this amazing planet!
