About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I caught my travel bug during my first Work & Travel visa in Canada(2008), NZ followed(2009), then OZ (2012). I wanna see as much of the world as I can, meet different people, learn from new perspectives and enjoy life. Back in good old Canada now, living in Vancouver and working as a PR Consultant...I love the active outdoor lifestyle here. Beautiful place!

ABOUT ME

I am relaxed, outgoing and happy with were life has led me...I love travelling and meeting new cultures, perspectives and lifestyles - for me this is the only way to keep progressing as a person. I am a big mountain and outdoor fan since I spent 2 years in Banff, Alberta. I never thought I was a very outdoorsy person before I went there and started enjoying skiing, being outside camping or hiking with friends. The skies in the Rockies and the Australian Outback always leave me in awe. Most amazing moments. I am back in Canada now, live in Van and love it.

PHILOSOPHY

You can try to do everything right - and still miss out on the most important things in life. So simply enjoy! I wish people would relax a bit more and get back to basics...I learned that I was the happiest when travelling to Alaska with only a van full of friends from all over the place, a tent and a nice fire every night to cook your meal over. The best 6 weeks I ever had.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I do have a couch available, just need to check with my flatmate.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I couchsurfed with a few good CS friends here in Van the first weeks I arrived and they were amazing hosts. Changed my whole Canada experience to a great time when it didnt look it at first. The community in Van is awesome, people help each other, share experiences and fun times together.

Interests

Hiking, skiing, kayaking, yoga, camping, some hours spent by the beach doing nothing are fine with me as well as long as a campfire and great conversations are involved anyways lol, meeting new people, partying and having good chats over a few wines, cooking (at least HELPING to cut stuff, I am not big into cooking myself), simply enjoying the moment

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I travelled from Banff to Alaska with four friends from all over the world in an old Dodge Caravan that had 393.000 km on the clock (and made it there and back!)...the mountains, the wilderness, the vast countryside, the turquoise lakes, the dark green pines along the road...that has been the most amazing thing I have experienced in my life so far. There is nothing better than sitting by a great fire at night, having a drink and good friends around, enjoying the moment.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am a Yoga Teacher and would love to help you out with that if you are interested. And if you think you could benefit from learning about PR or marketing strategies, let me know :-). Other REAL practical skills for making your life better? Well, my resourcefulness and creative ideas when it comes to getting by on not alot of money and finding a job / a place to sleep are actually quite a surprise to myself haha! I guess we learn with every obstacle that stands in the way. But I love to discuss Shakespeare's Macbeth or Taming of the Shrew every so often...if you are interested in some literary discussions I am in....oh, and I can show you how to start a decent campfire, kayak, ski, dance ballet and do Yoga :-).

Countries I’ve Visited
