About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To gain as much insight of other cultures as possible. Travelling on 'til my life is gone!

ABOUT ME

I am a very wholesome, social, and as I am told, slightly eccentric individual. I really enjoy intellectual discussions of all sorts, and I LOVE the outdoors. I frequently enjoy music, the performing arts, and most of all culture/people!

I can be impulsive towards things that I really want to do or talk about but I am not interested in spreading gossip or talking about the latest celebrity gossip/"news." I can also be slightly impatient but it depends on the situation and the time of the day too. I am quite ignorant to most mass media as I do not own a TV, listen to the radio or go to clubs much. I am very social though, just in my and my friends own ways.

I am very outgoing in the physical sense and love to backpack, cycle, snowboard, cross country ski, rockclimb, etc etc. I LOVE the outdoors. I start to become agitated when I am stuck indoors too much.

Other than that I enjoy the performing arts and try to be musical. I sing in a few choirs and play a bit of the ukelele, but I am not a rock start so to speak just yet. I am not a huge fan of pop music despite listening to it at the bars, dancing to it and having fun when I am out or signing it in the choirs but I will listen to it if others do. I am quite utilitarian in that regard, as I just like to spend time with people, and whatever everyone else wants to do is good with me usually.

I really enjoy a discussion about anything intellectual where I may learn something new or a different perspective or gain a new understanding even. I really enjoy learning about new cultures.

PHILOSOPHY

Well the easiest way to describe myself is through age old sayings.

Life is a journey, not a destination!

Everything in moderation, including moderation (something I live by)

Do unto others and you would like done unto yourself.

Live fast, die hard so to speak. (live life now not later)

Plus, I live my life to find a way to give back to humanity and help change it for the better.

Music, Movies, and Books

Too many movies to name but, Donnie Darko, V for Vendetta, In Time, any marvel or DC comics movies etc.

Music: electronic, chillstep, chillout, jazz, classical and the like, some older rap and hip hop, and anything with musical talent involved.

Deep economy, Empire of Illusion, Brave New World, 1984, Clockwork Orange, Natural Economy, Physics of the impossible etc etc.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I guess the first experience to long distance treks would be the most epic thing that I have done. It was only a 1600 km cycling trip through the old rail raod tracks of southern BC in Canada throught the mountains. I had never done anything like it and was ill prepared for such a thing. I learned soooo much so fast, and it was by far one of the greatest feeling of gratification I have had when I finally arrived at my destination.

Teach, Learn, Share

Well I frequently am told that many of the perspectives that I see are different from the way that the majority would. Or that I think in a particular manner compared to the general population, so I would think that I could give alternate perspectives to status quo.

Well, I am no hippy but I believe that with the population exceeding 7 billion this year, and the state of our Earth, we must begine to localize or capitalistic endeavours. I have a great deal of information on this.

I have many experiences of long distance cycling and hiking trips that I always enjoy sharing and teaching other people about. Such things as always making sure you have more than enough water, even if this means less food. You wouldn't want to get caught at the summit of a mountain in the freezing falls temperatures without food AND water would you.

I would like to learn about a more sustainable lifestyle, but I am very interested in learning new ways to cook and eat too.
