About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Living my life at its fullest and travelling as much as I can.

ABOUT ME

Restless, curious about life, always looking for a new goal to keep me going. I like to observe, learn, listen. Fascinated by the past, focused on the present, not especially worried about the future (if not in terms of what our species is doing to this wonderful planet).

PHILOSOPHY

Travelling is a state of mind.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Mostly showing people around and being showed around or hanging out. I have surfed only few times so far but I've been hosting people whenever I could.

ECOUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

All the people I met thanks to CS were special and unique in their own way. Some of them became friends of mine. Some others I still remember with pleasure. But all of them has given me something, beyond hospitality or gratitude. This is why CS rocks!

Interests

I can't think of my life without a good book to read. Reading is like entering other dimensions, a creative activity; it's just another way of travelling (and learning). And I love music for quite the same reason but music gets even deeper, where nothing else can reach.
I love writing, too. It's something which comes quite naturally to me. People I know think I should sit down and take time to start writing seriously (like, a novel). I think I'd like to, as well, but I'm apparently too lazy to do so.

Music, Movies, and Books

Too many to name them all. I'm not a big fan of the top this and that lists.
However, here are some of my favourite films: Orlando, Birdy, The Matrix, Little Miss Sunshine, Annie Hall, The Others, Rear Window, Mary Poppins, all of Tim Burton's, Star Wars saga.
And some of my favourite authors (comics included): Neil Gaiman, Antonia S. Byatt, Zadie Smith, Zerocalcare, Ian McEwan. Here's a pretty accurate account of my readings: http://www.anobii.com/kjria/books
I like listening to different kinds of music, mostly electronica, pop, rock, jazz, R&B and classical. Here are some of the artists I like to listen to: Nitin Sawhney, Woodkid, P.J. Harvey, Depeche Mode, Max Richter, Sting, Suzanne Vega, The Cure, The Smiths, Fink, Björk.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The most amazing things I've seen or done belong to my dreams. But I have to admit that living with both my eyes open is quite amazing in itself, as well. One moment I'll always remember as absolutely amazing is my first night in the Wadi Rum desert in Jordan and the perfectly beautiful sudden silence under that stunning starry sky.

Teach, Learn, Share

As a foreign language teacher, I'd be happy to teach my own first language (that is Italian) to whoever might be interested.
Ready to learn anything interesting you can teach me.
