Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
In Otesha (1500km bike tour with 5 others) for two months I stayed in a different place for one to three days each; houses, churches, tenting...
The places I enjoyed the most were the farms probably, I liked to work and help out, and the people were so chill and accepting and interesting. Some of the most memorable moments were from sharing meals with hosts. And I really liked staying with people who don't expect anything from you but who are eager to share ideas and philosophies.

Teach, Learn, Share
I think those who travel are more conscious of their prejudices and faults and more motivated to change them, because to lose them will help them travel more smoothly. Also, some people intentionally develop their views of the world; stuff like abundance and community building and participation in gift based economies, and fulfillment of personal purpose. But these changes can only occur in those who act to become more aware of themselves and look outside their familiar community and routines.
If that's not enough reason to couch surf I don't know what is.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Cook, clean, get a bottle of wine and help with groceries if desired.
