About Me

G'day!!

Creative and outgoing guy from Oz traveling around the world (again), looking to make new friends and discover some cool spots to hang out and drink a beer along the way.

Being a little older and wiser, I generally don't care much for being a tourist. I prefer to have a yarn/ laugh with good company, discuss anything and nothing, usually over a decent glass of red or beer. I also do love music a lot and try to get to gigs as humanly possible while traveling. With that said, I don't mind hanging out at a decent museum.

I'm a gay/queer man so I generally float around the liberal side of things when it comes to equality and social justice. I see couchsurfing as a way to meet like minded humans across the planet. With that said, I'm very easy going and like a good laugh and 'taking the piss' of most serious subjects.

More importantly, the main goal for myself is to keep on learning about the things that make life happy and sweet.

Hopefully, I'll be hosting by the end of the year.

Coming up in 2016: Bangkok, Siem Reap, Oslo, Berlin, Bristol, London, Amsterdam, Iceland, New York, Chicago, Detroit, Toronto, Denver, DC, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Hawaii, Tokyo, Osaka, Cairns & Torres Straits.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I don't use this site nearly as much as I should. Still, each experience so far has been great! I mostly enjoy the conversations had with my hosts. The adventures some have taken me on. The local perspective and knowledge gained. Most of all, I love the idea that I'm some how connected to the world through these people; that my existence is not limited to the city I live.

For the time being, I'm not ready to host in Brisbane. My partner and I are still sorting out the house. However, I often drive to the Sunshine Coast & Hinterland. If the timing is right, I'll be happy to take you along to check out some of SE Queensland's best beaches and stunning mountains.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm going through a lot of classics at the moment: Neil Young -Harvest, Grace Jones - Nightclubbing, Black Sabbath, Led Zepplin and David Bowie are getting a lot of play time. I'm also getting into some Turbonegro & violent soho.

If you're ever in Brisbane, check out some live music. Hound, Babaganoush, Suicide Country Hour, Hits, Los Huevos & Shifting Sands are some of my favourite local bands.

Favourite movies: Kill Bill 1/2, anything Kubrick, Pink flamingos, The Lion King, Lone Wolf and Cub Series, Studio Ghibli everything!

Currently in a Kurt Vonnegut book vortex.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

- Star gazing on the Carlos Sand Blow at Rainbow Beach QLD. We were lucky enough to see a dark red full moon rise from the Pacific Ocean until it was bright enough to illuminate the entire dune a surreal orange haze. Such a weird and humbling experience.

Teach, Learn, Share

Travel related conversations go a long way. I know a few awesome Malaysian recipes which I'd be happy to teach you or even cook you.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Chats, adventure, food and beer! Maybe cigarettes. Lol
