About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To explore the world one step at a time

ABOUT ME

I'm owner of a engine overhaul company, restoring ship/truck/car engines to their original state. That's something I enjoy doing but it leaves little time for the other thing I love, traveling. I do encourage others to travel as much as they can and I hope that as a host I can help like-minded people.
I'm upbeat and they say I have a good energy and sense of humor.

PHILOSOPHY

At the end of the line you'll regret the things you didn't do more than the things you did do.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Spreading the word of couchless people in need.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

No surfing yet but I've hosted people.

Interests

I love to travel! I've been to quite a few places and I think you should get out of life what you can. You could consider me a small-time geek, I'm into modern technology, gadgets & trinkets but that hobby can get over-budget fast.
And I'm a sucker for boardgames.

Music, Movies, and Books

Lately I'm reading more autobiographies. Reading about interesting people makes me want to enjoy life more.
I enjoy songs from all genres but I tend to enjoy 'old-school' rap, eighties & nineties rock. Whilst reading however I really dig some Charlie Parker.

Movies? Who doesn't love Scorsese, Woody Allen, John Hughes, Kubrick and other great directors as Hitchcock, Stone and Coppola. Before the movies were all about loud noises and weird glasses.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

An African tribes village with cell phones but no 'normal' electricity to power them.
I've spotted a black rhino in the Ngorongoro Crater at 5.30 am.
Had a child in Sumbawanga named after me. (Not my kid)
Slept in the desert in Jordan, walked to the Monestary in Petra.

Teach, Learn, Share

Chewing gum can be removed with peanut butter.
WD-40 on squeaky doors.
Ducktape.
