I am vegan and interested and involved in grassroots activism. I like to drink tea, meet new people, go on adventures, read about amazing things and play guitar and trumpet.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Hosted a few people and they were all very nice.

When I was 16 and visiting Berlin I befriended (unbeknownst to me) a couchsurfer, and was invited to stay at hers, rather than sleeping on the platform in the city's mainstation.

Interests

Reading (Thomas Pynchon, Nabokov, Cormac McCarthy, Orwell, Atwood, Kafka, Camus, Frisch, Dickens)

listening to music (Owen Pallett, Noname Gypsy, Moondog, Emily Wells, Andrew Bird, Joanna Newsom, Sufjan Stevens, Grizzly Bear);

playing music (guitar, trumpet, singing);

writing (short stories, poetry, articles, essays);

learning about stuff (mathematics, physics, philosophy, caring for other people).

hanging out with friends (tea/coffee, lunch, at a bar, at the cinema, at a concert, at a club);

bashing intolerance (converting rascists, anti-semitists, islamophobes, homophobes, antiziganists, transphobes, etc.) including my own prejudices.

trying to be a better a person (get better at
listening, making friends, understanding other people's problems etc.);

I love playing football and volleyball, so if anyone's around up for a game of either of those, please invite me along.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: I haven't watched that many movies (or as many as I would have liked to) but here are some that I really I enjoyed: Donnie Darko, V for Vendetta, No Country For Old Men, Milk, Gasland, Exit Through The Gift Shop, Trainspotting, Down By Law.

Music: Huge fan of Owen Pallett (especially his Heartland album), Joanna Newsom, Sufjan Stevens, Andrew Bird (I have to see him live!), St. Vincent and Grizzly Bear.
I also like Radiohead, Muse, Travis, Foster The People, Emily Wells, Liszt, Stravinsky, Charles Mingus and Bombay Bicycle Club... but my list could go on and on - if it's good I like it :)

Books: V, Crying of Lot 49, The Trial, Alice in Wonderland, The Outsider, Lolita,The Road, No Country For Old Men, Fabian, 1984, Letters Back To Ancient China,The Perfume, Max Frisch and books to do with social movements from around the world.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

1) When I played Britney Spears' Toxic infront of my whole school. On the acoustic guitar with a friend of mine.

2) When I was 16 and hitchhiked on my own to Berlin and to St. Pölten (a town 50km from Vienna).

3) When I made vegan parmesan cheese for the first time! OMFG!
