ABOUT ME

I am the child who never grows up. I love people. I love hugs. I am an overly empathetic person. I laugh a lot and cry a lot too. I love the bubbles that glitter in the light, the baby who giggles, the smile that charms, the beauty that glows.

I love life. :)

I can be really enthusiastic and spontaneous sometimes! Maybe a little crazy, but not a bad kind of crazy (i think)!

I'm basically up for anything; i love the great outdoors despite not being overly fit. I will love a really good outdoor adventure just trekking around, kayaking, climbing waterfalls, cycling etc...

but i love my quiet time too. You do not have to worry about filling up silences with small talk. I am just as comfortable being quiet.

I can sit for hours and hours just reading a good book or sit admiring a quiet, peaceful and beautiful scenery. I also love me-time staying in doing housework and cooking too. I'll be up for any activities/new experiences in general, as long as it's safe! :p

I'll enjoy a nice day out with the host but rest assured that hosts do not need to babysit me at all. I can be independent. If a host is busy, that is fine! I respect people's schedules. :)

I love sharing experiences/stories over a nice cup of tea or a big mug of beer, especially when it comes to interesting discussions. I love talking about anything - space, history, cultures, friends, family, philosophies, life, anything!
I might not be as well-educated in some areas but i always love listening too. In fact, talking/listening/engaging in discussions might just be some of my favourite things to do! I honestly think knowledge is power and i love just finding out about anything in the world. I keep an open mind and always try my best not to be judgemental.

I'd say i'm generally very easygoing, patient, and fun. I'm not one to get angry easily (or, at all). You can be forward and upfront with me. I also enjoy being sarcastic (only in a fun way, and not hurtful) and i crack sexual jokes all the time hahah. Of course, it depends on the situation or the people that I'm with. If i know you're not comfortable with sexual innuendoes, rest assured that i will not do it. :)
I'm mostly nice and polite to people hahahaha, though once i know you a little better i might reveal my true crazy self. ;)

PHILOSOPHY

I live to be happy. If i'm all poor without a proper job or hardly any savings but still lived life all happy and contented, who is to say i'm any less successful than the others out there?

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm sharing a small place with my family (5 others) so i can't host, but i can definitely bring you around if you are keen! Couches might be quite hard to find in Singapore (because most of us staying with our families in small apartments) but due to my past work experience as a hostel manager, i might be able to give you some good tips on where to stay. :)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

- Got hosted by a really kind host in San Francisco who offered his own bedroom with a really comfortable bed to us while he stayed with his girlfriend! He even hosted us even though it was Thanksgiving, and cooked up a wonderful meal for us all.

- A host invited us for dinner even though he could not host us. The dinner kept getting delayed, but we were alright with it. When we arrived, he told us that his eyes were failing him. He was late because he had left the groceries on the bus he was taking and had to contact his friend to help him out with getting more and preparations. I was almost touched to tears by how sincere he was. He said he couldn't see us clearly, but it wasn't something that bothered me at all. We spent such a great evening together, talking and having a great meal.

- Got 'abandoned' by a host when we got to New York and had nowhere to go. A really nice lady contacted us at the last moment to host us. Lucky us, or we might have had to sleep in the station!

LORD OF THE RINGS, DEFINITELY AT THE TOP OF MY LIST. I've watched it so many times i can recite many exact lines, i memorised trailers, i have a life-sized replica of Anduril, an Evenstar necklace, posters, VCDS, DVDS, extended DVDs....and my username is an adaptation of an Elvish word, of course HAHAHA okay you get my point.

Disney, Pixar, Studio Ghibli, The Schindler's List, Inception, Shutter Island, The Hurt Locker, The Notebook, Ip Man.
I'm not that into romance or girly movies, but i come across one or two really good ones occasionally and love them just as much. I mostly love movies that make me think a lot. War movies and thrillers especially.

I can take and love almost all kinds of music - indie, mainstream, pop punk, classical, jazz, mandopop, kpop, rock... not techno though, no hahaha.

ohhhhh books, i love books. I love a good read and the smell of a new book makes me really happy. I used to read a lot (lesser now!), mostly fiction like Song of Ice and Fire series and enjoy authors like Haruki Murakami, Jodi Picoult, Dan Brown, Jeffrey Deaver. I love fantasy, thrillers and i'm not really into romance novels, though many people just assume that i am just because i'm a girl. hmmmm.

I'm very easily impressed, just generally very easily contented and happy so there are just too many amazing things for me to name. :D
I find it amazing enough to be alive and well to enjoy all these beautiful sights.
