About Me

People say that I am positive energy. I tend to believe that. I think I am very good at simply being happy and having fun.

I am currently studying Web Development. Besides that I do yoga, read books, learn German (yep, the only thing in my life which is NOT fun), dance like nobody is watching to techno music in Berlin clubs or festivals, and travel, of course. This is why I love and use CouchSurfing.

CURRENT MISSION

to explain to as many people as possible where the hell Lithuania is

PHILOSOPHY

"Everyone you will ever meet knows something you don't." (Bill Nye). I feel so rich because of the people I met in my life. CS contributed a lot to my wealth :)

And I'm always trying to remember that the best things in life aren't things, so I'd say, best thing in life are: making an instant connection with somebody, without speaking a word;
crying from happiness at 7am after all-night dancing in electronic music festival;
last-minute trips;
a travel-fellow met spontaneously on the other side of the globe;
every honest hug/smile/compliment;
...and millions of other 'things' :)

“If you're going to try, go all the way. Otherwise, don't even start. This could mean losing girlfriends, wives, relatives and maybe even your mind. It could mean not eating for three or four days. It could mean freezing on a park bench. It could mean jail. It could mean derision. It could mean mockery--isolation. Isolation is the gift. All the others are a test of your endurance, of how much you really want to do it. And, you'll do it, despite rejection and the worst odds. And it will be better than anything else you can imagine. If you're going to try, go all the way. There is no other feeling like that. You will be alone with the gods, and the nights will flame with fire. You will ride life straight to perfect laughter. It's the only good fight there is.” Charles Bukowski

Music, Movies, and Books

"Some movies you see, others you feel." So here are the movies which I feel: by Quentin Tarantino (e.g. Pulp FIction, Kill Bill), Alejandro González Iñárritu (Amores Perros, 21 grams, Babel), Xavier Dolan (I Killed My Mother, Heartbeats). Also American History X, Dead Poets Society, Gladiator, Moulin Rouge! Pearl Harbor, The Pianist, Adam's Apples, Shindler's List.

UPDATE - this above mentioned list was made like 5 years ago, nowadays I simply don't watch movies. I turned into a YouTube/documentary lover :)

TV shows: Game of Thrones, The Office.

Music: in general non-commercial stuff. Priority - electronic music (such as ambient, downtempo, electronic rock, IDM, techno, deep house, dubstep). And I'm really into post rock (+ some other types of rock, like alternative/indie/art rock). Some particular names: Maceo Plex , M83, Nicolas Jaar, Tale of Us, Sigur Rós, Caribou, Explosions in the Sky, Ten Walls, Air, and... ahhhh, too many of them!

Books: pretty much everything written by all Ayn Rand, Malcolm Gladwell, Erich Maria Remarque, Haruki Murakami. And SO many others.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Basically, everything that makes me leave my comfort zone. For example, skydiving in Hawaii. Or moving alone to Canada for 1 year.

Best decision ever - moving to Berlin 4 years ago.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'd like to learn how to cook something more sophisticated than a student's omelet or pasta.

What can I teach? Yoga, maybe. :)
