About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To rid myself of expectations and just go with the flow of things :)

ABOUT ME

I love to laugh, dance, eat, explore, listen to stories, discuss both the important matters and the bull shit, flowers, climb fences, drink wine, Kayak, go caving, read and wander off the beaten path.
I tend to get lost a lot, but I have found the most beautiful places in the world by doing so.
I am really, really funny (even if no one else thinks so).
Smile; life is beautiful! :)

PHILOSOPHY

No matter where you are or what language you are surrounded by, if you can say "yes", you are good to go.
Que será, será¡ (What will be, will be)
Ichigo Ichie (We have but this one chance, this one opportunity, so make the best out of it and do not let it go to waste)
Shut up and dance.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

It's a big, beautiful (and sometimes not so beautiful) world out there. Couchsurfing provides as opportunity to cut through the bull shit of bright lights or photo-shopped/media-made expectations and create real connections. It's a wondrous community of sharing cultures and perspectives and opens a world of possibilities to experiences that have historically been dominated only by those of wealth. It's definitely a pretty alright setup.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

•Living and serving in Jargalant, Tov Mongolia for 2 years as a Peace Corps TEFL volunteer. Nothing impacts you as a person like the Hardest Job You'll Ever Love.

•Volunteering in West Helena, Arkansas as a counselor for a day camp that had an aim of inspiring teenage girls and helping them realize that despite being raised in a disadvantaged place, they themselves had a world of opportunity at their feet.

•While studying abroad in Japan, on one of our few free days, when everyone else in the group stuck around Tokyo and explored the city, I hopped a train by myself (btw, I speak no Japanese...) to Lake Kawaguchi located at the bottom of Mt. Fuji and found the exact same hotel that my grandfather stayed at when he was on his R&R time during the Korean war. When I found the place, I climbed to the top of the tower and cried. I felt like I could feel his 21 year old spirit there with me, overlooking the lake and the mountain...

•In general, the little moments that remind me that I have an amazing life keep me constantly awestruck. Whether they be taking a walk in Parque Retiro, going out for Tapas, laughing (even just a giggle), taking a walk with my dog, talking to a stranger on the bus ride home, going cave hunting, or slowly floating down a river on a brisk, summer morning with a warm mug-o-tea and a fishing pole... those are the moments I never want to forget.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach: How to make the worlds best PB&J sandwich or some killer banana-nut bread.. How to talk like a Red Neck.. How to laugh at yourself..

Learn: YOUR language.. How to express what I´m thinking.. YOUR food, traditions, music, and way of life... How to Wind Surf.. The best way to cook fish.. How to survive in the wilderness for extended amount of time..

Share: Hombre, mis cosas son tuyas. I don´t have much, but I´m willin´ to give ya what I´ve got!

What I Can Share with Hosts

My perspective and experiences as a fellow human being from my own background. Laughs. Dances. Food. Stories. Pictures. Dreams. Probably some tea and chocolate, too.
