About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Meet great people. learn, and live life

ABOUT ME

Have recently become a travel junky and want to meet people learn, and live. Strange describing yourself but I like to think I am sincere, kind, a little quirky, and pretty easy to get along with. I Love the time I spend in my metal studio and have been very focused in my art, then I realized that even though this makes me happy I want to find more. I love fun conversation with interesting people over some good drinks. I have always been an outdoorsy type kayaking, hiking, camping ect. Really looking for chances to experience the arts and culture of counties outside the US. I am now on a journeyman blacksmith trip in the UK.

PHILOSOPHY

Life isn't about finding yourself Life is about creating yourself.
To live a creative life we must lose our fear of being wrong.
If you want something MAKE IT.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I want to experience good people and good places. I want to ask people for a place to stay so that i can in turn give the same help to someone else when i get back home.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have none?

Interests

Humble people that make great works, ether music, visual art or whatever. Learning what makes people tick is also up at the top of my list. My favorite thing to do is make my sculpture ether carving stone or wood or hammering out chunks of metal. Another thing is witnessing and participating with something great that starts as an idea and becomes reality is one of the greatest things I can think of.

Music, Movies, and Books

Fun dance able sound, all types folk, bluegrass to electronica and dance. Yonder Mountain string band, Edward Shard and the Magnificent Zeros, Emancipator, RJD2, Ratatat and two many others to mention

Movies: Perfume, Hitchhikers guide to the galaxy, I am also a sucker for bad action movies.

Books well I am very dyslexic so i don't read for fun, the books i do read are things to teach me stuff like manuals and how to books. And a lot of picture books love pictures.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I spent two months making my first spiral staircase railing the job that payed for my current adventure and after we spiraled it threw the doorway and into the stair way. It fit perfectly!!! I almost began to cry because i was almost sure i would have screwed up somewhere and i was going to have to take it back to the shop and fix it and i was getting on a plain in 2 days and had no time to do that but if i hadn't then i wouldn't have gotten paid and had money to make this trip.
The other moment was driving across the Mississippi River during a thunder storm and seeing a tornados in the water next to the bridge i was driving on.

Teach, Learn, Share

Ummm teach: metal work, machinery repair, the ability to diagnose mechanical problems and then figure out how to fix them. Maybe something about compostion of a good piece of artwork. umm how to tell a good weld from a bad one
Continue Learning: how to inspire, conversation
