About Me

Moved to the UK in order to pursue a PhD.

Have road tripped to and lived in Illinois, Arizona, Nevada, Louisiana and South Carolina.

Completed a cross country road trip from NY to AZ.

Proud New Yorker from Westchester, NY. Half Mexican/half Colombian. I'm an approachable person. I love making people laugh. I love being spontaneous and going on an adventure. I'd like to travel to Japan next then Greece, Ecuador, Peru, Dominican Republic and Cuba (I have an affinity for many Latin American countries as I have close friends from many of them.) I am attracted to the arts such as playing the violin, latin dancing, and acting. Overall, I think you would get a better impression of who I am if we chatted for a bit instead of reading my random thoughts :).

PHILOSOPHY

*Lo único cierto es la incertidumbre.*
The only certainty is uncertainty

*Treat others how you would like to be treated*

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I traveled to Paris and Rome alone and I don't think my experience would have been as exceptional if it wouldn't have been for CS. Because of CS I ended up:

Paris:
-Attending the Paris weekly meeting the same evening I arrived.
-Skipping the second half of the meeting because in all the excitement I forgot to eat. And had two kind CSers accompany me for a delicious first meal in France.
-Going to the Tour Eiffel at night and witnessing the tower sparkle
-Meeting an interesting group of CSers at the musue de petit palais
-Touristing all over Paris with a fellow NYer/CSer
-Eating a crepe in front of Moulin Rouge
-Eating at a Japanese restaurant with a few CSers and then heading to a bar to watch the France vs Suisse game
-Visiting the beautiful southern suburbs of Paris

Rome:
-Getting a tour of EUR and seeing the Colosseo Quadrato
-Moderately lost trying to attend the Rome weekly meeting
-Going to the Fontana di Trevi at night
-Tasting the best Naples style pizza and gelato in Rome
-Inviting two Californians I met on the metro to a CS meeting
-Sitting on some steps near Trastevere, drinking a bottle of Moscato with a fun group of CSers plus the two Californians
-Visiting Ostia beach on a Monday with another group of interesting CSers, unknowingly spending someone's birthday with them and listening to two CSers play the guitar.
-Shopping for wine, cheese, chocolate and coffee to take back home.

Granted this doesn't include all of the adventures I had on my own. I can definitely say that I am experiencing the full effects of wanderlust withdrawal.
