About Me

Hey, I am Tomas from Slovakia. I've spent last 9 years in Prague, Czech Republic and moved to London this January. I am very new here so I can't give you much of insider tips&recommendations but I would happily discover London with you if you like.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've signed up our profile with my girlfriend Katka during our stay in Asia a few years ago and surfed several times. Later, we were hosting for some time in Prague as well. Now, after some break, I would like get back to this lovely community as I live alone in London and have a couch to share ;-)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We were surfing in Taipei, Taiwan for the first time. We stayed with a group of Paraguayan people which was a perfect beginning of our couchsurfing experience!

Interests

I love drinking tea and learning about the tea culture, I like rock climbing, hiking, cycling, skiing and of course traveling (who doesn't on Couchsurfing? :)

Music, Movies, and Books

Rock music. Do you know Epica maybe :) ? I like fantasy, mostly J.R.R. Tolkien, Andrzej Sapkowski and Terry Pratchett and crime novels from Jefferey Deaver and Peter May. I like movies with Kate Winslet and Jack Black, Kevin Spacey...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've persuaded my girlfriend Katka to apply for Chinese Government scholarship with me. We both got it, what allowed us to spend a year in China learning Mandarin and discovering the great country!

Teach, Learn, Share

Since I am interested in tea I am excited to learn more about it. Guests who are tea farmers or merchants will get preferred :) However, I already have a little knowledge about the tea culture and will be happy to share... I like cooking (and have a spacey kitchen now) so we can cook together for sure. As my Mandarin is worsening fast as I don't have opportunities to speak it, any Mandarin language exchange will be appreciated.

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, France, Hungary, Ireland, Laos, Netherlands, South Korea, Turkey

Countries I’ve Lived In

China, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Taiwan, United Kingdom
