ABOUT ME

To tell the truth, sooner or later all of my friends say: "You are funny". And then each of them gets kind of "unsatisfied" look from me followed with a question "why?", which they would find funny again. I am still in progress of understanding myself and what exactly makes me funny, but I just chose to believe in my friends when they say that it's a good thing. What I know for sure is that if someone manages to make fun of me without me getting even a tiny bit offended, it means he/she got what kind of person I am and we gonna get along.
And if you ask me, I would consider myself as a tolerant and outgoing person. All of my friends are different, varying from crazy hippies or computer geeks to managers or lawyers. And with all of them I find something in common which makes the bond of friendship.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

So far I have surfed a couch in Chile and participating in different activities by CS in Buenos Aires. I have also hosted couple of people in Denmark and it was a great experience!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My first couch surfing experience was staying on the couch at the house of 3 very cool people in Valparaiso (Chile) where during one night (on the couch) I experienced the earthquake! Very cool start, I am still excited about it :)

Interests

My attention would be always grabbed by a calm and relaxing guitar or piano music, underground band concert on the street, newly blossomed violas, beautiful boxes of various shapes and sizes, seashells, soap bobbles, hand written letters and impressive quotes of Winnie The Pooh.
I like when my life is full of different activities which include spending time with family or friends and meeting new people. I am always involved in different clubs and organizations that matches my interests (students' representation, mentors program, dancing club etc.). I like organizing events, preparing surprises or presents for close people. I always put part of my heart into that and the best thing I can get out of it is to see smiles on peoples' faces.
My most expressed interest recently is dancing salsa. I love it! It is an amazing activity which connected me with lots of wonderful people and gives so much satisfaction! Salsa changed my life!
I am not so much into sports, but I am always up for some kayaking or biking with friends. And mountain hiking is the activity which enriches me a lot!
I also like cooking dinners for friends, especially I like to surprise them with some traditional Lithuanian dishes and see their reactions :) And baking cakes is my specially of cooking, which people seem to enjoy a lot. The more good words I get about my cakes, the more I want to bake again. Maybe it's the strategy of my friends...hmmm :)
And of course, I love traveling, exploring new places, meeting new people, that's why I am here - on CS!

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: I listen a lot to Lithuanian singing poetry bands and singers, I love the music of acoustic guitar and piano. In general I am not crazy about any band or singer in particular and like to listen to various music. If I hear a good music somewhere and I know that I like it, I ask people to share it. And just to mention few names: Eric Clapton, Katie Melua, The Beautiful South, The Beatles, Johnny Cash, The Doors, The Cat Empire, Ska-P, Semisonic, Charlie Winston, The Rolling Stones, Sigur Ros, Ludovico Einaudi and many more.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In general I am trying to enjoy details in life and even the smallest things can give me lots of joy, so it's not so difficult to make me happy :) Although, I can mention some things that left a footprint in my memories:
-swimming under the stars
-paragliding
-Erasmus
-all night walk in the rain
-hiking up to Mount Teide
-salsa trip with 30 friends
-coming to Argentina
-earthquake in Chile
-crazy buses in Peru
