About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Keep a growth mindset and do something that can add value to who I am and contribute to our beautiful world, :)

Enjoy the life and travel around the world.

ABOUT ME

I would define myself as an easy-going, cheerful and open-minded person, active and positive with a sunny disposition and show people with a smile, :)

Generally I am outgoing, but quiet sometimes; I enjoy both with friends and being alone.

I like reading, traveling, or other outdoor activities and I like meeting new people. I lived in England for nearly 1.5 years and traveled alone to 15 countries. I met many people during my travel and got many help from locals and travellers, it's great experience. Many Thanks for all! And with this gratitude, I wan to give back and help other people whenever opportunity comes.

Anyway, it is unlikely to know a person through a brief description. So let's meet and talk, :)

PHILOSOPHY

Being a Chinese in Northwest of China, I was told to study hard, find a decent job and then find a good man to marry. And that is all!

But, is that all???

There's a saying "the biggest risk in life is to risk nothing". We only have one chance to live in this lovely/wonderful planet, why not to make it as great as we can?

"You Only Live Once " can be one of my philosophy, just follow your heart and pursue the life you want to have, write your own history, try to make each day a masterpiece. I think this is what brings me to Canada.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I heard Couchsurfing from a friend but never tried it until I started to travel abroad. Since then I participated lots of Couchsurfing events, host and being hosted many times.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

First, I highly appreciate and feel grateful for some couchsurfers who spent their time to host me and/or arranged a meeting with me during my travel--thank you!

In return, I hosted many CSers as well when I am free, so far I think I have hosted around 30 Couchsurfers, they are all very nice and cool people, we all had a good experience.

More often, I joined Couchsurfing local events when I was in England and I made many international friends there. Some became my very good life-long friends, even we can't meet now, we still keep contact.

Interests

Three things get me exciting: Travel, Food and New Technologies that change our lifestyle.

I have a dream of travelling around the world since I was a child. Where is next?--Remember the movie "Fly"?--SouthAmerica! But travel needs $ and time, I can't travel all the time, but everyday can be a new adventure, sometimes a new street, a park nearby or a hike on weekends are worth exploring too.

In my spare time, I prefer outdoor activities e.g. hiking, cycling, or just walk around to a different place nearby. Sometimes I go to cafe/restaurants with friends or myself. When I am alone at home--I like learning different subjects online on Cousera or edX, the two are my favourite; YouTube has many good tutorials too. I really like learning new things, and I want to have my own business someday, so I spend a lot of time learning business, marketing, management, big data etc. I am also into different culture, psychology, meditation, innovation etc.

And yes, I am a Foodie, :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Amazing thing? Only one??

Being a volunteer and working for elephants in Chiang Mai, Thailand, definitely an amazing experience I had!

"Escaping" from a Couchsurfer's home at 1 am in Rome and hanging around alone with all the luggage for almost a whole night! It's a bit dramatic.

Went to a snowy mountain alone in Bled, Slovenia to find the so-called "legendary waterfall"; I happened to be the only human being in the mountain where there is no proper road (the public path was blocked by snow) and in some places the snow can be as high as my leg! And I have no any equipment; I was wearing only one jeans! probably the most crazing thing I've done.

Mistakenly got off a long-journey train in the middle of the trip when it stops; I thought it would stop longer and I just wanted to buy some fruits in a local shop. When I came back, the train was gone! All my luggage was there! And where I was? At that time, even I don't know, all I know was "I am somewhere in Russia", and no one speak English......

The most recent amazing thing I think is I built a StartUp company and made a website for it too, I did it all myself from scratch, here is the site I made, it looks beautiful: www.c-theworld.com (In Chinese)

Teach, Learn, Share

I am a Chinese, so if you are interested in China, I am glad to share everything I know about China; or if you want to challenge yourself to learn Chinese, I am here!
I lived in England for some time and travelled to many countries in Europe, lots of stories to share...

I am also keen to learn all kinds of things about the world; everyone can be my teacher.
