CURRENT MISSION

Matt has travelled on his own and together we have hosted people from many different countries. Now we are travelling together for the first time and we'd love to see as many places as possible and meet new people along the way.

ABOUT US

Matt is 32; born in the USA and came to New Zealand via Australia . Matt works for one of National News Broadcasters. Matt travelled extensively in his 20's and made many friends that he still keeps in touch with today through couchsurfing.

Chris is 27; born and raised in New Zealand. Chris works as a Support & Partner Success Manager for a SaaS company. Chris has travelled to the US and Australia. Since moving in with Matt we've had the chance to host people thru Couchsurfing & AirBNB.

This is our first time travelling together and we want to make it a memorable trip given we'll have to go back to NZ and do that grown up stuff like getting a mortgage and stuff afterwards.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We have two rooms that we have on AirBNB in the slow season we make these available on Couchsurfing as well. We also love providing advice to people as they travel NZ

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Chris is now the CouchSurfing virgin of the relationship! Matt had friends with great experiences with CouchSurfing and gave it a go on his last trip in 2012. Matt had such a great time he started hosting whenever he could in New Zealand.

Interessi

Matt's first love is film but reluctantly the second is Chris. We both love nature and outdoors... especially in the summer. We like keeping active by going on walks, cycling, tramping, swimming. We cook and enjoy a beer at the local pub or a glass of good wine with excellent company. Chris is a geek that likes his tech toys.

Musica, film e libri

Movies, we enjoy all genres of movies and enjoy viewing films we have not seen before. As a freelance filmmaker Matt enjoys short films as well. We haven't read many books lately. Chris tends to gravitate towards Thrillers, Biographies and Business eBooks. Matt can be slightly more picky but enjoys historical fiction, political thrillers. In terms of music we both enjoy Easy Listening and Classical and individually we have a wide range of taste in other genres.

For Matt it's hiking The Tongariro Alpine Crossing in New Zealand. For Chris, it was being one of the Welfare Responders after the Christchurch earthquakes and watching the way everyone pulled together.
