ABOUT ME

I really can't think of what to say about us! We have been married for 33 years, love each other, our children, & grandchildren very much. We had always worked hard and now we want to play hard as well. If you invite us into your home ,we are low maintenance , and don't need to be entertained or coddled. We love life,growing old is mandatory; growing up is optional.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We are starting by traveling, so we need your couch. I don't know how many requests we'll receive, because we live in a small town, with not much to do, but we're open to hosting! Update, we now have our oldest granddaughter living with us till spring of 2017, then we can host again.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

This post was from 2013, We had a blast!
We are planning to backpack through Europe this coming August , for 4 months, and will be starting our couchsufing experience then. When we went to Australia we stayed with a couple from another sharing site, Airbnb, and enjoyed that very much. This is 2015 and we are hoping for a great experience here in the States as well. We have a fifth wheel we will be using when we can, but we enjoy meeting people as well.

Interests

I read a lot and then try to do what I've read about. I like doing things I've never done, things I never thought I would, and pushing the envelope in extending my horizons. I want to see & do it all.

Music, Movies, and Books

I read incessantly, my favorites are mysteries. Old school like Agatha Christie or new school like . Tv shows mysteries, crime shows, travel, history, NCIS, Breaking Bad, Revenge, Dexter, CSI, King of Thrones, Anthony Bourdain, Food Network. Movies, Princess Bride, James Bond oldies, White House Down, Django, Bridesmaids, Tombstone, Life of PI, The Avengers, anything and everything. We have a movie date every Thursday night , trying to see the ones that really need to be seen on the big screen. Music, rock n roll, new & old, country old & new, jazz, folk, almost anything.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The most amazing thing I have ever done was seeing three of my grandchildren being born. Nothing can compare with a child emerging into this life!

Walking on the Great Wall of China ,was unbelievable ,and tobogganing to the bottom. Seeing Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden city, all in a 15 hr layover. Second, snorkeling in the GreatBarrier Reef are two of the most awe-inspiring travel experiences we have had , so far.

Teach, Learn, Share

If you want to know about raising and caring for children, I am Mrs. Spock , lol .I can crochet using directions. I can spot the killer in the beginning of a show. I speak basic German and can teach you German nursery songs.
