Présentation
À propos de moi
CURRENT MISSION
To learn.
ABOUT ME
From beautiful Wales but currently living in Paris for the next year working as an au pair and trying to learn French (c'est difficile!)
I always try to wear a smile.
I think I'm quite easy to talk to and I'm interested in almost everything.
PHILOSOPHY
I've decided to be happy because it's good for my health. (Thanks for that piece of wisdom Monsieur Voltaire)
Sometimes I can get frustrated with the way the world is but I always try to find beauty in it.
Pourquoi je suis sur Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I don't have a couch as I'm living with my host family but free to meet up and hang out. Would love to meet some local Parisians and find someone to practice French with :)

Morceaux de musique, films et livres
I love interesting films that can make you think like anything by Terence Malick (my boyfriend introduced me to his wondrous films) and my favourite films are Into The Wild, Tree of Life, Factory Girl and Amelie. However I prefer to read. I love English and American Literature, particularly Jack Kerouac (Dharma Bums, On The Road) and Allen Ginsberg (and the rest of the beat generation). When my French is better I would love to read some French Literature, at the moment I'm attempting Le Petit Prince - such a beautiful story! I also like to read non-fiction, Buddhist texts really inspire me, or anything to do with natural health and spiritual development. Small is Beautiful had quite a profound effect on me. Man is small, and, therefore, small is beautiful.
At the moment I can't stop listening to Bon Iver - what a genius! Also Taking Back Sunday, Sigur Ros, Imogen Heap, Angus and Julia Stone, The XX, Bob Dylan...
Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue
One that springs to mind and always puts a smile on my face is the New Year I spent in Dublin with three amazing friends. We spent the evening dancing in the streets with spontaneous musicians in the snow all with huge smiles on our faces (and quite a lot of wine in our bloodstreams).
I'm also very fond of sunsets, they are something amazing to see everyday. Sunrises aren't too bad either.
Enseignez, apprenez, partagez
I want to learn about everything, people's passions can make any subject interesting. I would like to learn more about jazz, classical and opera, theatre and film, classical art and mythology. I love to learn about food, cooking, health and eating. Maybe I could teach you to cook! I can teach you to make your own bread. I like to be creative and can knit and love to draw and paint (although I'm not very good if someone could improve me) I would love to learn some French of course.
