To be the change I want to see in the world, and hopefully help inspire others to do the same.

ABOUT ME

I believe I am kind and considerate, and I do my best to get along with all kinds of people as much as possible. I'm open-minded, and have always been able to make friends with those of different backgrounds, nationalities, and cultures (and ages). I like to laugh and have a good conversation, enjoy good food and good people. I love to be a part of an interesting/exciting event, whether it be a sporting event, or a good lecture or peace/political rally. I also enjoy some solitude and time by myself

I find myself living in the Red Rock country of Sedona, Arizona at the moment, seeking a more relaxed, peaceful, and less populated environment from Los Angeles from where I come. It's been an unbelievable, experience living in this very sacred place, connecting with new people who live here as well as visitors from all around the world.

It's been quite a journey I've been on. After some very tough years following college when I was getting stressed out, focusing too much energy on my own problems and feeling despair over the world's troubles, getting discouraged and frustrated, and feeling powerless to make a difference, I rediscovered my lost enthusiasm and passion, and reawakened to the magic and beauty of life and to the amazing things that are possible (through some remarkable experiences). And I've found the courage and determination to meet life's challenges and obstacles-- and a desire to help others with their challenges. I still get upset with some of the insanity on this planet (and within myself), but I have a new perspective, a much better understanding of what's really going on, and I realize now the power of looking within. I see now that life really is all how you look at it.

I do have some pretty serious personal goals and projects I'm working towards, but I'm mostly learning to live in a new way, slowing down, getting more grounded, and trusting my instincts & intuition, allowing myself a chance to live with a spirit of play and adventure.

I do definitely enjoy traveling, and have been fortunate to see many beautiful places in this world. Yet I have not been able to do as much as I'd like, and I hope to be able to explore much more of this great planet soon.

PHILOSOPHY

I try to be true to myself and give everything I have, with all of my heart, to what I believe in and care about, no matter what the odds are of succeeding, and regardless of what others might think, or what the outcome might be, I can walk with pride and have no regrets, knowing I did my best and had the courage to take a leap of faith and follow my heart. At the same time, if things don't work out too well, it's still possible to learn from the mistakes, get stronger, and hope and pray for another chance.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I would like to be able to explore the possibility of staying with a host on my travels.

I don't quite have the space to host at the moment, but hopefully I will some time soon.

Interessi

I enjoy hiking in nature, meditation/contemplation, philosophy, playing or watching sports (like basketball, baseball/softball, football, tennis, etc.), listening to music, dancing (when I get up the nerve), being with animals and wildlife, learning about the world, visiting sacred places, reading or listening to talks about spirituality, psychology, societal issues, writing, adventure, etc.

I've been inspired by Martin Luther King, Jr., Robert F. Kennedy, Ghandhi, John Lennon, Thich Nhat Hanh, Alan Watts, Eckhart Tolle, and many others who have offered a different vision of how to live individually and collectively, and a vision of a new world.

I am an avid listener of Pacifica Radio.

Celebrating the Boston Red Sox winning the World Series in 2004, for the first time in 86 years, with thousands/millions of people.

I'm sure I have something to teach, and a lot to learn. Not sure at the moment more specifically. Perhaps some of the healing practices I've been learning, and I'm open to sharing my experiences and hopes for this world.
