About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Aspiring clinical (neuro)psychologist - I'll never stop being fascinated by the brain and how it translates into the human psyche ;D

ABOUT ME

I'm currently living in Brisbane and completing my studies in Psychology. This has made globe trotting a little difficult in the past two years but I've found some solace in exploring the mountains nearby and going on little day trips whenever I can. I'm kinda socially awkward but somehow am really comfortable when I meet absolute strangers who just want to have a chat- perhaps the transient/fleeting nature of it gives me more security in revealing more about myself or that there is a sense that the person seems interested in getting to know me makes me want to try harder. I really like meeting travellers because they seem to operate on a different frequency, one filled with more curiosity and openness towards others and that really attracts me to them.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I tried couchsurfing on my three month Europe trip years ago and had so many exciting encounters and adventures with my local couchsurfers and it really drew me to couchsurfing as a way of travelling. I hope to open my home to couchsurfers once I am settled down in a place.

Interests

I feel like my life has been characterised by exercising, cooking (as a need), netflix, reading and writing since I started my postgraduate life, dotted with some adrenaline inducing hiking trips to the mountains. Becoming more of a creature of solitude as time goes on but I am always game for a hike/walk or adrenaline-incuding adventure.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm eagerly awaiting the new seasons of Game of Thrones and Black Mirrors. The most recent movie I watched was nightcrawler as part of my facination with Jake Gyllenhaal as an actor.

Am currently reading the collapse of society by Jared Diamond but all previous books have been psychology textbooks, which I believe nobody is really interested to know about.

Current random earworm has been The Four Seasons by Antonio Vivaldi, especially Summer and Winter.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Travelling from the east to the west of Mongolia by public transport and crossing the border to Xinjiang. The wilderness of the land and the kindness of locals was keenly felt throughout the trip (';

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm not quite sure what I may be able to teach or share but I can definitely bring you on a long ass hike if you are game ;D

What I Can Share with Hosts

I have recently improved my cooking abilities for starters, and maybe my Asian-ness if that can be shared.
