About Me

I'm optimistic, friendly and fun-loving, and looking to meet new people and explore new places. I love a good conversation, and am always looking to learn new thinks from others. Traveling, meeting people and experiencing new things are my passions. Moving and shaking is a big part of my life – I'm a biker and runner who loves to play with all kinds of art, to cook and eat, to dance and sing, to make and do.

These days I split my time between living in Tokyo and sailing around the world with a floating NGO.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I think Couchsurfing is an amazing community that sees the value of people without profit. I've surfed in Europe and the US, and have been amazed by the kind and inspiring hosts I've met along the way.

Music, Movies, and Books

I am a storyteller and a lover of stories so it's impossible for me to choose favourites. I love Zadie Smith, Haruki Murakami, Margaret Atwood, Dave Eggers, Wim Wenders, Akira Kurosawa, Stanley Kubrick, Wes Anderson, David Lynch, synthy sexy strummy jazzy dance-y.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Circling the world with an NGO/NPO called Peace Boat and visiting 23 countries in the process.
A close second would be spending four seasons living in Europe and the U.S. on a theatrical pirate ship with the Caravan Stage Company.

...I seem to spend a lot of time on boats.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach: guitar? knitting? tap dancing? language lessons?
Learn: I want to learn anything you want to teach!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I've had a long list of odd jobs and have picked up a host of stories and skills that I'd love to share. I also like to bake.
