ABOUT ME

I worked for half a year in Portland. Then I had three awesome weeks with my friends travelling winterwonderland Canada in an RV. Now I'm having the biggest adventure of my life: Traveling the US from west coast to east coast and then down to Miami. On my own.
It is always hard for me to describe myself and then I'm worried that I should know myself better. OK I try:
I'm curious and I like to try things but I also like to sit on the couch and watch TV or surf the internet forever. So I have to kick myself out of the living room to do something. Sometimes people don't understand my jokes and I cannot tell why, maybe I'm to ironic. But also sometimes I don't get what others are saying :P I think it's hard to make me angry and I'm tolerant to almost everything as long as it does no harm to nature or people.
My best friends would describe me as calm and friendly but also as dreamy and obliviously.

Por que estou no Couchsurfing?

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I read so many couchsurfing profiles during planning my USA coast to coast trip and I get so exited about doing the same so many couchsurfers did before. I think doing couchsurfing is a good way to learn about other places and to get to know great people.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I experienced a little. I stayed two times in Seattle before and after the big Canada trip. Then I stayed with the family of my roomate in Montana (but they are not couchsurfing members). I surfed in Chicago and Boston.
I also hosted some friends in Berlin and I met couchsurfers that stayed with a friend.

Interesses

I read a lot and I like listening to music and podcasts. I recently learned that I really enjoy hiking, because I did a lot of hiking in North-Oregon. When I go back home I'll definitely continue with that.
A few years ago I started teaching myself playing the piano. I'm not good and I can only play a few songs but I really like playing it and I keep learning and sometimes I'm dreaming of writing my own songs :p
I also like yoga so much that I think I should do that more often but I'm also lazy. There are some weeks where I do not Yoga at all but then I get this feeling, that I really need to do it again because it feels soo good.
I'm also kind of interested in politics and I think that was a major change in my life when that interest started a couple of years ago. Before that I did not understand or was interested in politics at all but now I wished I would not be so effected and outraged by stuff that goes on :(

There are more books I read I can list here. Currently I'm reading books by Brandon Sanderson. I also enjoy watching movies although I cannot remember actors or directors (⌒_⌒;) My friends watch a lot of movies and I'm always happy when they show me one I didn't see before after they gave me this disbelieving view and a reproachful "Maria!"

Going on vacation in crotia with my roommates. We traveled by RV and stayed in nice house near the beach.

Summer 2013
I think the most fantastic thing I did so far was climbing the South Sister Mountain in Oregon. It was 10 miles, 11 hours and 5000 feet elevation. I will never forget that because it was the physically most challenging thing I ever did and I was so happy when I arrived at the top and I was so exhausted when I was back down again. My body hated me for the next 3 days but my mind was flooded with joy all week :)

Winter 2013
Two friends and I rented an RV and traveled three weeks through Canada. It was soo awesome. Because we traveled in late autumn and winter, sometimes it felt like we had Canada all for yourselves because we were the only ones who stayed in a campside in the middle of a Nation Park. The nature is breathtaking and really beautifull.

I could teach you some German words. There are some my new friends in Portland think are really funny: Schluckauf, Rausschmeissermusik, Kummerspeck...
And I really want to improve my english so please correct me if I say something wrong!
