About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I am returning to Kaneohe/Kailua again this year to Csurf before sailing my friends race boat home to SF bay.

ABOUT ME

Native to northern California, i have grown up with the sea and absorbed its character. My life develops with patience, moderation and persistence. I am a recent graduate of Guilford College in North Carolina and since then i have been working on and off as a Barista and demolition manager. Before seeking higher education I am working on grounding my passions through work for positive and progressive change. Coming from a mixed Mexican and American background i have a deep appreciation for cultural differences and identities. My response to hospitality is always a gracious and humble attitude and i love building appreciation for different lifestyles.

Interests

my interests are widespread but the few that i am particularly turned on to are: sailing, coffee, environmentally focused social-justice work, and last but not least great beer! i am an avid sailboat racer and have been for about 12 years. i race around the San Francisco bay and the occasional long distance ocean race. i have just started brewing beer in my apartment and will take up any opportunity to chill with brews, tunes and whatever else people find interesting these days.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

A moonlit all acoustic opera at Verona's Arena in the summer. a pod of orca whales at arms length from our boat while fishing in SE Alaska. 500 cyclists riding in a bike party at night in the middle of Richmond for the first time.

Teach, Learn, Share

one of the first skills i like to learn and share with people is cooking. i know a few things but love to take in what i see others making. resourcefulness and sustainable practices are always on my mind and i love encountering practical applications for them. In conversation i seek to learn from different social and political perspectives and subsequently offer my own. i treat political arguments as an opportunity to find mutual benefit between differing views and have experienced many great lessons with people from all over.
