ABOUT ME

Hello!

My name is Alison. I'm 32 years old, and I currently reside in Philadelphia, PA, but I am very interested in moving to Colorado!

I nanny during the day for a baby

I consider myself a free spirit, a lover of life, and all that comes with it. I'm quite quirky, but in a good way. I have a passion for meeting new people, trying new things, exploring new places, and making wonderful memories.

A few of my favorite things include:

Music (I love all music, but esp. folk and soul),laughing,singing,house shows,bbqs,parties, makeup, the beach, and movies.

I think I am a lot of fun to be around. That's for you to decide for yourself. I'm also very responsible,(which I find to be very important) I tend to be quiet at times, especially when I'm nervous or unsettled in my surroundings.

I never really had the time to travel, because of work and school, but this summer I'd like to change that a bit.

I would like to try to surf a bit, and then host once I feel more comfortable.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have finally experienced Couch Surfing.

It has changed my life for the better.

Interests

I pretty much put it up already, BUT:

I love to be involved in anything music related, whether it's singing, attending a local show, attending a house show, etc. I love folk, soul, rock, indie, jazz, blue grass, etc.

I love to be social and to meet other people. The more new people, the better. I LOVE potlucks, and other social events.

I am always down to see new places/try new things. It makes all the more memories!:)

I'm down with nature! Enough said.

I a dying to learn how to make Kombucha, if anyone does that.

I love antiques ,photobooths, carnivals, the beach, vintage, thrift, boho, pinup, kitchy, curiosite, retro things. so there is that.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: Across The Universe, 500 Days of Summer, Juno, Garden State, Bridesmaids, Hairspray (John Waters), Shag, Empire Records, Everyone Says I Love You, Annie Hall, Amelie, etc.

Music: Ray LaMontgne, Bob Dylan, Nick Drake, Edward Sharpe and The Magnetic Zeroes (I just went to see them in concert. Ask me if you want to hear an amazing story), Led Zeppelin, Radio Head, Neil Simon (Graceland is my fave),Bessie Smith, Billie Holiday, Otis Reddding, Sam Cooke, Blind Willie McTell, Robert Johnson, Sweet Emma Brown,etc.

Books:I don't watch a lot of tv, so I save my "junk entertainment" for reading. I really love books like The Devil Wears Prada. I also love memoirs, self help, auto biogs, and novels.

Tv: I don't really watch a lot of Tv. It's not on anymore, but I have both seasons of my beloved, "Party Down" (look it up)on dvd. I also love Mad Men.

Sex and the City is what I watch when I need comfort. It never gets old for me.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I went to Israel for a month with 20 other kids my age, from all over the country (I was 17?) I didn't know one soul in the group.

By the end of the month, we were a family.

I rode a camel, fell in love, had my heart broken, slept in the dessert, hiked all 4 seas, ran down a sand dune, through a sand storm, swam in the dead sea (OUCH), had a midnight swim in the Mediterranean sea in my underthings, and made amazing memories, even though I lost touch with everyone.
