Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

While making a documentary, I shared sand-beds inside tents beside a remote river for months with a bunch of fisher folk in a remote area where roads were at day's distance and electricity was 2-days walk away. In the middle of a moon-lit night, a tiny baby mouse came inside the tent, everyone woke up with one guy's scream and it took us an hour to get la petite out of it.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Made friends with stray dogs all over the world and at times, found the local vet for some of their issues. Similar experiences with people in various situations but would never call that 'amazing things I've done'.

Memories...
Early at dawn, inside the Ta Prohm temple in Siem Reap, Cambodia, while darkness was slowly being eaten up by the first light, I stepped towards the first cruciform pathway. Felt something on my feet and suddenly there was sharp and painful insect bit that made me scream and the surrounding ancient trees and temples echoed and the birds woke up.

In Paro, Bhutan, outside quite a touristic ancient temple, met a very lovely and curious old lady casually begging. later came to know she had sons and grand-daughters working in offices etc and she goes to this temple to beg out of boredom.
