About Me

CURRENT MISSION

“For my part, I travel not to go anywhere, but to go. I travel for travel’s sake. The great affair is to move.” – Robert Louis Stevenson

ABOUT ME

I'm a 31 year old male, born and raised at the border (los dos Laredos) between Mexico and Texas; I moved to Monterrey in my late teens to attend college (UDEM); currently working as a freelance video producer and journalist; 4:20 friendly, I enjoy good company, to travel around, meeting new people, art, movies, music, books …

PHILOSOPHY

- Live alone and free, like a tree, but in the brotherhood of the forest
- The Dude abides

Music, Movies, and Books

I enjoy all music genres. It depends on the ocassion; but I especially enjoy reggae (Old Bob, Peter Tosh, Toots & The Maytals), folk movement (Old Bob again), classic rock (their satanic majesties: Rolling Stones!), world music …

I enjoy and cherish cinema very much. It's one of the reasons of why I do what I do. Every visual work, whereas a short film, a movie, a documentary, anything made out on video, can work out as entertainment, art, complaint, worship, knowledge or culture (to say the least). Therefore, to pick a favorite is especially hard. I particularly enjoy documentaries, history based themes, horror, thrillers, westerns, and cinema verité. At home you'll get to know my movie collection, so if you're in the mood of watching a film during your stay, there are titles to choose from.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Wixarika Ritual on a foggy morning in Nayarit

Worked the kitchen for 8 months at BLX in Hollywood Studios, Walt Disney World, ¨happiest place on Earth¨ (International College Program)

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm open to any kind of conversation, and would love to hear about your culture and journeys, and be glad to share my own, even if few, experiences as a traveler.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'll be happy to ask you to join me on a walk or drive through the neighborhood in order to get to Bishopric Hill, a place in which a part of the Battle of Monterrey was fought in the year of 1846, during the Mexican - American War (1846 - 1848); it holds a museum with info not only about the battle, but of the whole history of the city of Monterrey.
