ABOUT ME

Zany, quirky, weird, and down to Earth? Yeah, we'll go with that. I'm just looking for a good time. The image of a turtle holding a "happy-go-lucky" sign is what I envision myself to be, actually. I enjoy deep conversations along with light-hearted easy going ones. Jamming and singing is probably one of my favorite pastimes...along with adventuring and roaming around! I just want to have some fun and be safe while traveling; not much to it other than that.

PHILOSOPHY

I don't believe that there is a heaven or hell, reincarnation, or that I'm going to acquire my own planet once I die. Due to this, I want to live this life, my life, to the fullest. Life doesn't have a purpose; however, life has meaning. We must merely make its meaning.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I haven't gotten too into couch surfing, aside from staying with three or four folks. I hope to be more involved however! I also would love to host people if I have a place that is hospitable enough for two or more!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have minimal couch surfing experience and want to acquire more, but I certainly know how to be a decent houseguest regardless. :)

Interests

Right now I'm interested in getting a project of mine kickstarted. It's called The Human Condition and I would love to share and perhaps have some help if you are interested in learning more about its mission. :)

MUSIC! Alternative, worldly, rock, anything really. I love backpacking and hiking as well. I'm a nerd, too....thus reading is fun for me; however, I don't expect to be reading too much while traveling (unless it's trying to figure out where I am and the next place to go!)

Movies: How to Train Your Dragon, Interstellar, Guardians of the Galaxy, Momento, Inception, the original The Hobbit, The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, Her, Labyrinth, Pan's Labyrinth, UP!, Finding Nemo, Brave, Wall-E, and anything Monty Python.

Music: I stated that before...I really like Olafur Arnalds though, Muse, William Fizsimmons, Passenger, a lot of alternative, and millions more.

Books: Quantum and the Lotus, Sophie's World, Apathy and Other Small Victories, ANYTHING Kurt Vonnegut, and of course many others.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Among one of my trips to the BVI, I was reminded how easy nature can take over. I was acquiring my scuba certification in July and apparently this was the month and the correct week that moon jellies...SWARMS of moon jellies were to be reproducing while I was a little twelve-year-old practicing scuba safety in the big blue. I remember looking up off the ocean floor to see just a sea of translucent purple. It. Was. Beautiful....and a bit scary too.

Teach, Learn, Share

I want to share the experiences I have had growing up as an Alaskan. I'll show you how to make a duck tape rose? Or I can just make some for you. :) OR WE CAN BOTH LEARN FIRE STAFF (because I just got a staff. ;)) I want to learn anything and everything! I love people, especially ones with outlandish jobs that I would have never considered. I'm a good listener with the desire to learn more about a person's life, culture, and experiences.
