ABOUT ME

I'm 22 and I can't think of a better time to explore the world. I love food, adventure, movies, beer, books and trying new things, probably that order. I'm typing this on a Swiss keyboard, I usually don't write with this manz tzpos. The coolest and best people I've met are when I've left my comfort zone and traveled, and I need to do it more often. The only time I needed stitches was when I ran into a grocery cart at age 9. The lesson, as always, don't run through a supermarket.

PHILOSOPHY

Laughter is the best medicine (except when you have strep throat. Then you might need a cup of hot tea and some antibiotics).

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I used CS for the first time while traveling in New Zealand last year and loved it. Living in a full 4-person apartment, I was unable to host during the last year, but I am looking forward to when I have a living situation that will allow me to pay back some of the generosity and hospitality I have received.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My limited experience with Couchsurfing has been awesome. My two hosts in New Zealand were incredible gracious and we shared some great laughs and a few scares. I survived my first earthquake while surfing with my host in Wellington, a surreal experience that I will never forget.

The moments that grab my attention are the ones that appear randomly for a few seconds then disappear forever. The ones you can never properly replay, re-enact or get back to. I love staying active and enjoy almost any physical activity, hiking, running, sports, you name it. I love books, movies, music (always looking for good suggestions in any of these categories). Waffle House.

Too many to count. Catch-22, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings and The Dark Tower are some of my favorite books. Shawshank Redemption, Pulp Fiction (or any Tarantino really), so many more.

Hitchhiking through New Zealand and meeting so many awesome Kiwis. Nicest people in the world.

I was camping in Wilsons Promontory National Park and walked down to the beach late at night when no one else was around. The tide was out and the beach was about 10 times its normal size. The moon had yet to rise over the ridges surrounding the beach, but there were so many stars in the sky I could easily see. The world is an awesome place.
