About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Learning from people about how to travel, their experiences, where to travel myelf, discuss this, that and the other over tea..and build up a trust with all the other couch-surfers! Should be a great experience, and it's a great community to be a part of.

ABOUT ME

I'm Angie. I'm 24, happy to say yes to positive suggestions-it's the little things in life that keep you happy; a walk on the beach, a well-made dinner with good company, coffee at a cafe, a row in the boat, a trip to the island, a game of volleyball, camping in tents, barbequeues and bonfires, a boardgame (Settlers of Catan gets more than a little competitive..!), a ride up the forestry, an early morning run, a music session in the local.
So choose and we'll go!
As for travelling, if I had the money I'd love to experience all the continents..I have a longing for Asia at the moment, and a more realistic longing for Italy, for the past while!
I've spent 2 months in Austria trying to get somewhat fluent in impossible German, and four months in Germany where the German was actually what we learnt at school, I was delighted to find out..!
Would love to learn another (arguably prettier) language!

PHILOSOPHY

Stop worrying-90% of things you worry about will never happen at all. Make the most of yourself, and the opportunities you've been given. Be a bit careful, drive safe.....drinking isn't the only way to have fun, but every now and again..

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have met up with a couple of people for German-English language exchange, and couchsurfed along each night of a cycle trip

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Wonderful. I met several people through language exchanges and bike-borrowing and through a cycle trip where I couch surfed each night, most places being really hospitable. You never know where you're going to end up but that only adds to the adventure. And what wonderful people are out there!

Music, Movies, and Books

Bon Iver, Imogen Heap, Queens of the Stone Age, Audioslave, Lisa Hannigan....I like music with a lot of meaning to the people that composed it. Not sure about a lot of pop. Most treasured pieces were the two my boyfriend wrote for me.
Books-Game of Thrones, Malazan series, Harry Potter series
Movies-Cinema Paradiso, The Pianist

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Sailed out along the mouth of the Shannon to Loop Head with my dad and brother on our humble sailing boat on a fine day. Pity about the sea-sickness, I earned a rather unattractive sunburn that day!! It took guts.
Walked 200 km of the Camino with my family
Uprooted to Stuttgart for 4 months, best part was doing a cycle trip from Vienna to Budapest with a couple of friends, couch surfing all the way

Teach, Learn, Share

Usually people older than me, people with their own style, own story, people who have traveled a lot, people who are confident in their own beliefs and values, people who have humility and an ear to listen to others

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Germany, Hungary, Slovakia, Spain, Switzerland
