ABOUT ME

I'm Laura, 21 years old. I'm from a town near Leeds in England but have just moved to Edinburgh after spending a year in Canada. I love seeing different places and like to spend time in both the city and the country. I'm intending to stay in Edinburgh for a couple of years to save up, buy a van and go on a big roadtrip.
I'd say I'm fairly shy with people I don't know well but I'm a lot better than I used to be and I do really enjoy meeting new people. I appreciate good conversation and enjoy sharing stories and finding out about people's interests, opinions and lives.
I'm gay / queer so open minded friends are a must. I've found CS to be a pretty liberal community so far so that's awesome.

I've met some really cool people and done things I wouldn't have even heard about if it wasn't for Couchsurfing. I'm really hoping that in the near future I'll be able to give back and host more often.

Movies: Star Wars, Back To The Future, The Usual Suspects, The Graduate, A Serious Man, American Beauty, Stand By Me, Fargo, anything by Wes Anderson and I like a lot of animated films too.

Books: The Secret History, The Crow Road, As I Lay Dying, Cat's Cradle, Middlesex.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Living out of a Mazda 2 with my good friend Marie-Claire as we travelled around BC and Alberta was one of the most fun things I've ever done!
Seeing New York at night from the Empire State Building was really awesome, as was the natural beauty of the Rocky Mountains.

Teach, Learn, Share

I really like learning about different people / places / cultures, so have quite a few stories to tell. I enjoy cooking but that doesn't necessarily mean I'm good at it!
